That's pretty sweet.
I have always thought a Leggy Wagon GT 5 speed would make a great daily driver. I was looking for one earlier in the year, but they are super rare and none were available, so I bought the GTO instead. I don't regret that, but if heaven forbid, the GTO were to explode, I would look for a Leggy Wagon again.

So exactly what SCCA autocross class was this car designed for... and would it be competitive running against the Formula A kart in the trunk (Pax'ed as implied)?
"SCCA Solo autocross competitor, beginning with a tuned and tweaked turbocharged 2.5-liter boxer putting out 300 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed manual transmission with a short shifter sends power to Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive system, while track-tuned Bilstein struts and STI "pink" springs suspend six-piston (front) and four piston (rear) Brembo calipers squeezing cross-drilled discs at all four corners. If all that and a set of custom HRE 19-inch wheels."
later in the article... "The liftgate spoiler, midgate spoiler and blackout-style HID headlights were sourced from the Japanese domestic market (JDM) Legacy. SVI applied its own custom parts, including a front air dam with fog lights; lateral hood vents; custom window tint, and, at the rear, smoked tail lights and a diffuser." "With a modified exhaust system and reprogrammed ECU -- but no bolt-on performance parts..." "starting up front with an SPT strut tower brace. Suspension is lowered using Bilstein® struts and suspension calibration, along with STI "pink" springs. A full Brembo® brake upgrade uses 6-piston monobloc calipers in front with 355 x 32 mm 2-piece floating cross-drilled discs and billet aluminum hats. The rear setup is the same, but with 4-piston calipers. Getting the power to the pavement are BF Goodrich P245/50 R19 Force-KDW 2 tires mounted to HRE custom 19-inch Comp wheels." "...including Recaro® Sportster custom front seats and custom matching rear seats." "...instrument panel and doors feature carbon fiber patterned trim. Custom boost, temperature and oil pressure gauges provide vital engine information, and STI aluminum pedals add a rally car feel."

I was wondering the same thing. I wouldn't have thought twice, except they named the SCCA specifically.

I truly love my country, despite what the radical-right fringe here might say ;) , but Americans are
morons when it comes to wagons; there are few things more sexy in the automotive world than a "SportWagon" (said w/a thick German accent).
Subaru: Make this car!
And, while we're at it. What the H-E double hockey sticks is wrong with you, America, that you have to drive a Flip-O-Matic, er, I mean an SUV instead of a perfectly suitable mini-van?! You're pulling a trailer with a race car or horses? Fine, get a nice Fiat Ram 2500 or SUV. But to haul yourself and your Gucci bag to South Coast mall (that is, if you don't flip it doing a lane change on the way there) in an Escalade? Sheer madness, I tell you.
Yes, now I'm done.

That must have been cathartic. Feel better now? I agree w/ you re: the wagons and SUVs, for what it's worth.

Yes. It helps to wash away the bad taste in my mouth from wanting the same thing Max wants...

Ok today has gone to H E double Hockey Sticks. Now I agree with Bill!
If you refer back to my short list of Autos... '71 145 Volvo Wagon, and a '02 Jetta GXL Sportwagon, two of the 4 vehicles I've owned.

Nothing says thick German accent like a BMW 3 series wagon with a M5/6 V10 stuffed in it. When I find the company who does the transplant I'll post the link.

"The transformation from a standard E91 3-Series Estate to super wagon begins with the exterior, where the car gets the front fascia, front fenders, side skirts, and the powerdome hood from the M3. Manhart Racing then adds their own rear wheel arches and rear fascia that makes room for a stainless steel exhaust system sporting quad exhaust tips. Next, the 5.0-liter V10 gets stuffed into the engine bay along with the the gearbox, and a limited slip differential is mounted out back.
Manhart claims a 0-100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of just over 200 mph."
