I noticed a BIG potential issue in the new sections of wording. Having assisted with Lot acquisition in San Diego a little bit (namely Soak City, but also with the military bases), Sent the following off to the National office.

If we have any Board member types still in the region, who may be able to throw some influence in, and you think this matters too, your assistance would be appreciated.

I know AMCI knows exactly what we do too, but I do beleive "racing" is not allowed at El Toro per their contract from the City either. Terminology does matter.

Hi Howard (et all),

Sorry for hitting everyone with this, but was hoping to grab someone's attention before the rule book went to print (if it hasn't already)

In the Jan Fastrack the following was listed.

“4.13 Assumption of Risk
Solo is a potentially dangerous activity that can result in serious injury or death. Participation in all aspects of the activity
is voluntary. The ultimate responsibility for participant and vehicle safety lies with the participant, vehicle owner, driver
and crew members.
The participant agrees that by entering an event, the Participant has had the opportunity to inspect the event site and
acknowledges that the event site is safe and suitable for racing. ..."

Any way at all we can get rid on that one word? It's unfortunately a very important word to get rid of. As regions who need access to lots, one of our pitches is the definition of Solo as listed in the rule book, and the description that does not thankfully include that SCARY word. The word RACING, scares lot owners. Even if they see what we do.... or are already familiar with what we do, the word "racing" is not mentioned in our rules. AND THAT MATTERS to their RISK MANAGEMENT types.

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE find a substitute word. It will matter to our future existence at the region level.

May I suggest the word "Solo", or "Autocross"??? I mean it is part of the "solo" rule book!

Thank you for your attention.

That did catch my eye too; was surprised to find the word "racing" used...

Ian,

It looks like the "Z"'s have a place to play: BSP to DSP. The Historic group could see an influx of out of date IT cars. It's going to be a fun year!

Craig,

That has already been addressed.

And yes, we have a SEB member in our region again. It's me. Now if Isley would cancel his non-stop letter writing campaign I could get back to Regular Life. ;)

Note he doesn't tell Marshall to stop HIS non-stop letter writing campaign.. must be the notoriety that comes with being King of Fastrack!

You have it easy... The CRB has received the brunt of my emails. Although... With a recent classification by the CRB, I see an update to the SEB is warranted.

I'm sorry I though you had retired last year.

Does "addressed" mean removed, changed, or just added to a future meeting agenda?

Well, as the new guy on the SEB I don't know that I have any privilege to release the info. There are official channels for that. Just trust me that you don't need to write in about it. Nothing to see here. Move along...

Edited to add: we all *know* that we aren't racing.

"addressed" was to generic for me... Your additional "trust me you don't need to write" makes me feel better (Unfortunately as mentioned above I copied my sent email. They have delete buttons) Glad to see others caught that too, to bad a note was not included in the fastrack since it was just published.

So far as the word, I don't care, but as stated, Lot owners do. For their sake I'm willing to split hairs for access.

Now that I'm on the SPAC, I'm gonna take care of Marshall. He's right, BSPs PAX is too high; 'course it won't matter when we move the Evos to ASP

Craig, despite it being distributed electronically Fastrack is still a publication. Lead times are on the order of weeks, not hours.
