I got a new quick release steering hub from Joe's racing, only makes me faster getting out of and into the car, and at my age that is very important. I also got a new Hero-HD that will at least show me how fast I woulda, coulda, shoulda been.

2 benefit All of Us ... I got a Samsung SC-HMX20C mini HD camcorder ... that also shoots 300 frames per second SD quality video. It's another on of those weird hybrid cameras ... does HD and SD video, plus stills ... and includes a built-in flash. It can also take stills while shooting HD video.

Check out this weird'ish 300 fps test clip, with a Canon Tele Adapter being hand held in front of the lens. Doesn't work correctly, it's a Standard Def adapter ... but makes for some neat effects ... watch until close to the end and check out the leaves at the bottom of the frame:

Women are so fussy! I got Karen a nice necklace like accessory ... one of those neck collar, helmet supports, in elegant black ... the stylish tapered model ... so she's a bit more protected doing her track days.

Don't have 'em yet but either... ...or... Still haven't decided. Hopefully I'll have 'em mounted and ready to go for the 1/9 weekend.

Got a new shirt. I'm calling it "racing" green.

And I also have a plan to run the car 20 pounds lighter. The question is whether I have the will power to stay on a diet.

Nothing physical, but I did land a few key Sundays as PTO.

i got a ps3 from my uncle (YAY)! Combine that w/ some Gran Turismo & I'm set for the 2010 season

I also got myself a simpson neckbrace & some new simpson harness seat belt pads (thanks to the ad posted by Tom about the sale) - was hoping I'd get a hans device for 30% off, but no go, haha.

Actually, I had an early Christmas present the 1st week of December.

I drove to Woodland Hills and waited 2 hours for a Craigslist seller to show up.
I came with exactly $140 in cash, like the Craigslist ad stated. Apparently someone created a duplicate advert with that lower amount as the seller was sure he posted the advert with a price of $350 for the racing chair + wheel.

I honestly wasn't trying to low-ball the guy at all.
I said I wouldn't have driven to Woodland Hills all the way from El Monte during rush hour if I thought the gear was selling for $350.
He gave me the gear and said something along the lines of "I'm Santa Claus today-- Merry Christmas now get the hell out of here"

I got a couple books....

"Go Like hell" which is about Ford's quest to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

"Mark Donohue - Technical Excellence at Speed" which is a very comprehensive biography of a great racer.

Hoping for some rainy days this week while I'm off so I have an excuse to sit on the couch reading all day...

Not familiar with that Donohue book ... only "Unfair Advantage" ... which IS interesting. Who would have thought that racing only 30, 40 years ago was so "unscientific"

For our 02 Mustang GT, that Ozzie will be testing on his 18th B-day which is the Jan 9 practice.

Hankook Ventus RS3 255 square on Kosei's K1's. Doesn't look like I'm going to get it in time for next event. Tirerack said they are back ordered.

Although I like the G25/27 steering wheel better, but the pedals are the $H!T2

Since i still don't have a car (for another 2 months probably) Iracing it is.

I only play Iracing now due to lack of time to mess with anything else ... motion sims start at aroun 25k anything decent is 40k and up ...

A different company was at the LA Autoshow where you could try it, but I had my 6 year old along and he was not tall enough to do it, and not calm enough that I could do it... besides they had the motion responses scaled way back (it barely moved doing an off-road truck sim)... liability issue I am sure...
