Yes, please remember never to park in creeks. ;)
The street in front of my office looked quite similar today. I didn't even head out for lunch until 3:00 because I was waiting for the deluge to ease.

He's worked in the area for a while, Mike. He should have known better.

This is a real e-mail from a college friend of mine who lives in San Diego. I've changed the names to protect the guilty. <Bracketed> stuff is my edits.
Here is another funny one for you. My <talented> wife totaled my car on
Monday during the crazy weather down here. She called me in a panic
saying she "was stuck in a puddle". Seems as though she figured she
could U-Boat command her way across a swollen creek in our neighborhood.
Not a good idea for a car that only sits about 6" off the ground. I
arrived in time to see the tops of my hazard lights blinking above the
water level and pushed the car out of the water with our SUV.
Thankfully the insurance company totaled the car as the engine was
toast. In the end, I'll probably make out better by getting the
insurance check (it was time to sell the car anyway). Just wasn't
looking forward to having a car payment again! Laugh it up boys!
p.s. <Lulu Bell> now has several new nicknames around the house: George
Washington, Daniel Boone, Captain Stewbing, Jack Black, Captain Hook,
Columbus, etc.

Yeah, Doug... I yelled at Stacey for parking where the flood waters could damage her vette... She said, "I kept the car dry".

i saw a mini on the 710 last week that was in deeper water than that. the driver was climbing out of the sunroof (the car obviously died).. >_<
my car almost stalled out too, it was a total mess. I barely got through by following the wake of a semi through the foot of water..
