Not surprised at all. Especially in this economy. At least Peter Windsor can go back to being a Pit-Lane reporter for SPEED Channel.

I heard the shop is already up for sale.

It really hasn't looked good from the start, and I'm not expecting them to be at the first race by any means, but there's nothing in those links that says they're officially "out". Until I see something official, I'm still holding on to a sliver of hope.

Meanwhile, it is true that USF1's Charlotte headquarters is for sale, but the team is in fact a sitting tenant, with a lease through 2014.

Yeah, me too, but it does not look good...

The shop being the teams physical assets.

I'd imagine there are very good deals on stuff, such as the CNC machining centers shown in the pic. Has to be a whole lot of other things.

I'm sad. But truth is they were never going to be good, so whats the point?

Speed already has a pit lane reporter signed up, and it word is they won't ask that person to step aside so Windsor can return.
Also, Bernie has said that teams must show at Bahrain or they're out for the season. Reportedly, USF1 was going to miss the first three races.
It's going to take more than the fleeting interest of an internet billionaire to mount a real effort. Someone with deep pockets and a deep in the gut, burning desire to be in the sport so that he/she doesn't blink at the cash outlay. Do we even have such a person in the U.S.?

I don't know about the burning desire, but I know Obama doesn't blink at the cash outlay.... Gov't Motors Team?

Maybe Fiat will rebrand the customer Fezza F1 engines as Hemis...

Speaking of GM, I'll be at a breakfast meeting on Tuesday with Bob Lutz.

Or maybe Danica can drive and the team will have a magnitude more media attention than the ones that win.

The Fiat chief is already on the record saying he didn't understand the Hemi fuss and thought such engines no longer had a marketable place in the lineup.

If there's a will there's a way, and I'm sure the fans would love to have him back. I would. So who's the new pit-lane reporter?

Maybe next year. I'd love to see him back. Not sure who they hired.
Meanwhile, USF1's driver has moved to Campos, which is being restructured and is rushing to have cars on the grid for the first race.

The US F1 Team web server is down and is being repaired as this is written. We are not gone, as many have reported. More news soon.

Legit or not I don't know...
Todd Tweedy I received an email from Ken Anderson earlier today. The email is provided below. Please just me and other fans in supporting USF1

Todd,
Feel free to share the note.
I am very appreciative of all the fans and am working hard to not let them down.
I don't think we should take any money until we know for sure that we are moving forward. I would also like to give them something for their money…
Stay tuned...
All the best,
Ken
Todd Tweedy Here's an email from last night.
Hi Todd,
Your offer to have a fundraiser for us is very nice and much appreciated.
I am not sure how it would work or how we could use the money.
Unfortunately we are at the mercy of the FIA and Bernie at the moment. The next few days will be critical to our future.
Lets wait and see...
Thanks again for your support!
Ken
