Here's the blurb from Renee
Lone Pine is truly an adventure. Nothing like any of our local events. It is a 2 1/2 mile course with speeds higher than normal. The surface is an "old" airport runway, almost as old as Craig.
The weather is mostly fantastic, the view of Mt. Whitney and the Sierra Nevadas is breathtaking and the camaraderie outstanding. You've got to attend this event at least once in your life.

I've still got a couple questions from the old message board unanswered:
What's the format?Is it essentally and all day adventure to compete for one day?
How's the entries going, it seems to be on the down low for advertising. (request for an entry list).
Is there a yes or no passenger's rule?

You can run one or both days, you choose. Jason has a link to the flyer above.
Anyone aware of the hotel situation? I prefer the Hilton or Marriott.
What about damage to paint and wheels from the loose gravel? I was thinking about bringing the Mini S.
Is a rental car a better option? Or co-drive anyone?

Although the last time I ran Lone Pine was about 1995, from what I recall you won't find a Hilton or Marriot there.
I suggest you don't bring your best tires and you might want to invest in some rolls of blue tape. The worst gravel is off line, if you stay on course you should not have any damage.

It's two days of racing, but each is seperate. I only plan to be there Saturday.

Should I assume this is a 'bring your own' lunch kind of place as well?
I'll probably have some extra water and sodas in my cooler left over from my last rallyx. Come by and get them Saturday.
I've also put together a couple Sat night banquet raffle prizes: Pair of Angels tickets and a $40 JayCom Vinyl gift certificate.

At this point, I'm probably not going to be able to make it this year
. My company is relocating and it will likely start this weekend.
If anybody is going that knows how to run the computer software let me know and I can tell you what has to be done for Lone Pine. If not, they can just do it by hand with the Timing Log sheets.

I had thought it was this coming weekend. Why does the lone pine chamber website have it listed for next week?

Darn, I won't be heading up until Friday night.
Are most people staying @ the Dow Villa Motel?
"All drivers must at a minimum wear 100% cotton (no blends) outerwear that effectively covers the body from neck to ankles and wrists."
I hope jeans are okay and we don't have to wear 100% cotton pants, since the only cotton pants I have are pajamas.

I should have known, but I have an excuse!
The pair of jeans I checked (only checked one of my pairs), was a blend of like 40-60% cotton, and the rest was something else (nylon, polyester, something) - so I figured all my jeans would be blends.
Just ran to men's room right now and checked my khaki's, 100% cotton. woo hoo!
Thanks Steve & Jay, I actually packed a pair of pajamas just in case last nite, haha, I'm still considering showing up in those if I sleep in.
