Who wants to come help set up course for the Pro on friday morning?
It will count as your work assignment for the weekend and you can add your valuable input to the course "fine tuning".
You would need to show up about 9;00am on Friday the 16th at El Toro.

Lucky Tom! We usually only get two or three set-up helpers ... I guess because we usually only offer one days work assignment in exchange for helping out. I wonder how they can afford to offer this set-up help as counting for the entire weekends work assignment?

Don't assume he gets 10 set-up workers.

Second, pros run 4 worker heats with ~200 entrants. Tours might have 5 heats with 300 entrants. Compared to our 5 or 6 groups with 200 entrants that makes for a bigger per heat pool, but these events to have greater worker overhead. Fewer heats means longer work time. So I'm not sure you can draw anything out of "how they do it" for our local event management.

Having done course setup with Tom the last couple of years, let me assure you, it's no easy assignment. Many, many hours go into getting it "just so". Mr. B. is somewhat of a perfectionist with these things

Yeah, I don't think Tom is getting 10 workers, but still it's a ProSolo, ie. 200 overall participants ... not talking about the Tour and JK

You're making the assumption that everyone who raised their hand gets the assignment. Ultimately, Tom will have to figure out how many workers the overall pool can supply, and I'm sure he will consult with his chief of workers before going final.

Actualy National events are nice, they have paid staff that does this all the time that figure a lot of that stuff out. Worker chiefs get their sheets from the SCCA folks and just do the ground level stuff, and there are usually 2. Hardest part at the pro's is having to round up workers for the challenges from the Local competitors, btw LOCAL Competitors, if you don't make any of the challenges we'll need your help working them, luckily the folks in the challenges ussualy don't hit cones.

We'll most of the folks doing the pro already have friday off for registration and practice starts and are going to be at the site anyway...

The more the merrier.... up to a point. I would say that 40 would be too many.

I'll be there tomorrow morning to help setup the course. I've been planning it for weeks and even working extra hours so I can take off... but forgot to post anything, haha! I'm not worried about it counting as my worker assignment, just that I have to leave a little early on Friday (3PM) and wanted to do what I can.

You don't have to worry about your work assignment, cuz you're my co-chief of course. I should be there around Noon. Sounds like Tom is getting there around 8, and trying to have the course set up around lunchtime, so you and I and whoever else shows up can start cleaning the course up.
