After the last pro solo event in El-Toro I decided to remove my turbo since I had a huge an air leak between the exhaust manifold and the turbo.
To my surprise I noticed the turbo and the valves had a white coating on them.
I wasn’t expecting to see carbon deposits since I run E85 but what is these white stuff?

A "good" exhaust valve that is sealing and holding compression will usually have white or tan colored ash deposits on it.

Doesn't White, as opposed to light tan, indicate a bit hot?

It did when reading plugs, but I wonder if because this is outside of the combustion chamber whether it means the same thing. :?:
