So how come people seem to prefer the 4th gen (1988-91) Civics over the 5th gen (1992-95) version? Did the car get much porker or something?

OK..OK...ill agree on something with steve...EF's ARE COOLER!!!

Weight is a huge factor in our class...Stephen and I are significantly slower when one of us is driving and the the other is in the passenger seat...this is why we take so much video and data...we do bench racing at home and watch the video and go over data till our heads spin or one of us falls asleep

...not to mention the car is balanced for each of our weights

CO'mon HOW COOL IS THIS!!!

Car looks REALLY good.... But the four digit number is freaking me out.

And weight matters.... That's what I been trying to tell ya' to explain that El Toro crushing (and maybe alignment too?).

Write the SEB! All ST cars should be ballasted to equalize to a 300lbs driver.

How do manage that if you weigh differently?

I like the way you're thinking. If you're gonna do something, go 110%!

In the Civic, I can't see how 6lbs could matter much on your cross weights unless your seating position was way different.

Yup thats why it works....we are close to the same weight so there is no adjustment needed between drivers... ;)

I pulled the trigger on some shaved stones and 15x7 Enkei RPF-1s...Now I have to convince Shauna that we need more RPF-1s so we can switch fronts between runs!

Check out a few of the 2007 issues of Grassroots Motorsports. They built a 92 EG to the STS rules and when finished compared it to Mike King's 89 EF...the results were really, really close. Go for it, STS needs some more variation. BTW, EF's are cooler. :D

why settle for very very close when you can just build a 240z and go kick everyone's butt?

I obviously missed something here. A 240Z in STS? Maybe you mean a 240SX?

The J-Rho 240 SX is pretty exceptional. Actually, it's the ex-J-Rho car if he sold it.

Didn't JRho later take that Splitter off? I'm trying to figure out just what the STS aero rules are....
It pretty much sounds like I can reduce the rear factory wing to a toy car size and then add a front splitter of 4.98 sq ft looking down from the top of the car (which given the bumper trim over hang far above the splitter would make for a quite large splitter). And of course, you could INCREASE and raise the bumper overhang under the body kit rules. In other words you could go aero crazy to a degree you can't really do in any other class than AM.
The no aero effect language is so vague as to be viewed by lawyer types as classic rambling dicta with no legal power. Simanyi!!!! What gives.
