Crazy ... Steve won STS by almost three seconds ... on his first runs! Almost as good as Ken winning by that much with only one clean run!

You only had tires for one run on that course. After 6 runs in the first heat with the girls, an 8/10th of a course red flag then giddy up to clear the finish for Annie, I had no front tire left for the last two laps. The rears were "perfect"
I guess I should have swapped them, but Team International Allstars and their pit crew swapping tires still couldn't manage to improve on first runs and I blame that on tires.
Imagine if it was really hot???

it's crazier that Motonishi paxed out 3th overall with no clean runs on sunday!
he must have been cheating...

we didn't have enough gear/power for that course.

I wonder if Max would have done better against Rick without the wing?

Nope - I would have done better against Rick if I had a) figured out what was wrong with the handling of the car earlier in the weekend and b) not made mistakes on both my Sat/Sun fast runs i.e. driven better
And even then, I'm not sure I could have beaten Rick.

2nd gear goes to 54MPH.. case closed. Someone at Subaru should have been fired, haha.
Come on Max you could have just copied and pasted Marshall's answer, "we didn't have enough gear/power for that course."

If cheating means going to work then yup he's a cheater. How can we compete with guys who drive at the limit on that surface for a living?
Since this is now an excuse thread, I'll blame "new" tires that were 3 years old before ever touching tarmac.

My answer is the same as Marshall's with the addition of not having enough tire.

Guys comeon, I had a real excuse!
I was driving an automatic boat with less power than the last VW I drove... and it wasn't one of those dual clutch automatics either.
I can't believe some people in my class thought the Jetta I brought out to ET was the same Rabbit S I drove in SDR...
more weight, a trunk, an auto, 2 more doors, a totally different front end, chrome grill...

Guilty! Most recent VW's look all the same to me. Anyhow, it was just a blur to me on course in SD so I didn't get a good look

Is it possible that NorCal took top PAX at all three divisional events? The region that doesn't even have a PAX class? hmmmmm....interesting.

Well i guess if we could fit 415's (equivalent tire/weight ratio of your miata adjusted for how much more we weigh) I wouldn't be complaing about not having any power.

Yeah, while I was literally coming out of corners leaning forward trying to make my 140ft/lb/1990lb car accelerate - or sipin' my soy latte heading down all those long straights.

Hey, all I have to say is you out paxed (what the hell am I talking about...you out RAW TIMED) the evil berrymobile on what clearly was a power course. So you can talk about only having 140ftlbs but I think the results are pretty clear.

And what
I'm saying is that if I had power to go with my
sports car's good handling, and dare I say, good driving, on that power course, I wouldn't have been so far out, in seconds, from Andy (2.5secs.!)
PAXing 2.5 secs. out is
nothing to write home about.

Think I can make up 4.8secs. w/more hp? Don't think so. I do not subscribe to the belief, like others, that an SM2 Miata will take down McKee/Strelnieks (sp?)

Marshall, I'll meet you at his storage place with my Sawzall and jackhammer to remove his current motor with you. I'm such a giver...

oh ye of little faith. You said yourself you were drinking latte's on the straights. Re gear your car for 75-77mph and give it the power to get there with out having to shift gears...nothing would stand in your way.
Mike already said he'd write you a check to cover the cost of upgrades. }:)

Isn't part of the definition of a "sports car", is that it has to have POWER? (i.e. Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Viper, Ford Mustang GT, Porsche 911, BMW M3, Ferrari, Lamborghini)
