E Core oil filters are they OK?

I've been using the GM PF46 filters on C5Z with no problems. Went to dealer today & they introduced a new PF46e filter. A little research resulted in information to the effect that the CORE on these new filters is more easily recyclable as there are zero metal parts inside.
1) What else did GM change? Flow rates, micron spec?
2) Will it FLOW sufficient for track days/autox?
3) If ans. to 2 is no, what do you use?
