Just a couple of pics from run group 1. The run group combination threw me off.

I'm afraid we didn't represent Team Toyo too well today with KMo on the sidelines . Max was awesome today improving on every run and crushing the STR field. Congrats, great driving Max!
Here's one of Nicks runs for your amusement.

Test of rev 1.0 of my "sky-mast" video rig. Interesting "GTA" angle, but still needs some work from both the vibration and wind-noise perspectives.

Very nice Steve ... I like the angle ... not too bouncy, OK bouncy when viewed full screen ...
Theo ... love the shot of Kmo & Son ... nice stills ...

Very nice shots, really like the use of black & white with the roadrunner, nice vintage feel.

Best run. 55.990 seconds. Only good for 4th in ST. Felt like a good lap, wish I'd gone left in the slalom and been more aggressive at the finish--looks a little lazy after the hard kink. Not a lot left, I think I need to turn a little earlier in the big sweep and unwind a little faster.
Be sure to switch to 720P HD mode!

I dig the mount. Wasn't too bad. Awesome job on the C. Box, looked perfect.

Thanks! Always fun to watch cars go fast. One of these days I'll actually spend some money on some competitive rubber.

I've got a couple of ideas to try and get the Jello out of the video.
Any credit on the C Box goes to Tom Berry. During the course walk he said something like "set up wide (i.e. to drive straight in) and make it one left turn". That's the plan I was trying to execute at least...
Thanks for the shot of the rig Mako.

I'm in love with my camera position. Realize it doesn't work for a convertible of course.
I mount a 170degree wide angle camera on the top of the open sunroof glass as far back as possible. Slight down angle. I get the top half of the steering wheel to see inputs and the head position, and I get a very clean view of the course and placement of the car looking down on the front fenders.... Yeah, I can't tell if I flapped the cone. But its the view I want to see for driving the course. To get anything better or more specific you have to do multiple cameras.
Of course, each person has there own tastes and preferences. I'm just in a "this is perfect" euphoria over how my camera placement and field of vision is working out!
Now I just need Randy to finish that ChaseCam Dashware dual video pane project and my life will be perfect!!!!

I tried various recording settings on our new GoPro HD, including 60 frames per second at 720P. How do I get it to play back at 60 fps? Using QuickTime Pro I can set it to playback at half speed ... but what I want is it to play back at 24 or 30 fps ... but seeing slow motion since it was recorded at 60 fps. Right now I don't see any difference in speed between the files recorded at 30 fps or 60 fps?
As Pete pointed out ... I was mounting the camera a bit low, ie. it could get knocked off by a cone ... for some reason the cone in the frame grab
didn't knock it off ?!

That's an AWESOME action shot, Mako! You're cuttin' it a bit close, and counter steering to boot!

Me?! ... that's Karen. In the video you can clearly see that she drove over the base with her front wheel, yet the cone stayed in place. I'm guessing the cone must have JUST missed the camera ... since the car was moving right and the cone IS slightly off center to the left. I set the camera to 60 fps so that we could more clearly see how close we were getting to the cones.
