oh man that sucks!
last year I had CDs in a CD holder on my visor fly out when I went through a turn. I am 99% sure some of the CD's even made it out the window.
needless to say I took out the CDs after that run.

I think the mirror said you pulled 1.5 G's in one of those corners.
Good going:)

I think it was the last time we autocrossed in lot 8 at CS, The instrument cluster brackets in Pat's RX7 broke half the way through the run. I ended up with the cluster banging and scraping my legs for the rest of the run.

My first time at Nationals, I fuel starved on my first run, got some gas to put in (but not enough), and on my 3rd run, I was really going for it, and the second cone into a 7 cone slalom, my radio falls out of the dash and against my leg. Distracted, I look down to see what 5 pound object hit my leg, and will it soon by under my feet, and wind up late for the 3rd slalom and completely out of the rhythm of the slalom. Of course, on the 180 before the finish, the car REALLY fuel starved, and I coasted where I should have been accelerating.
And I can count the number of times I've had a Pepsi can, or a small Pringles can under the seat, rolling around and making noise. This year, it was a Koni adjuster knob that came adrift, and kept getting under my feet, on what would be my only dry run of the day (I slowed down long enough to grab the knob, not knowing that it was about to downpour).

I'm sure this guy did his best to clean out anything that would fly around during his run.
But I never saw this comming.

Stuff falling off on a run? Dude, I drove a Lotus.
The mirror is too funny.
I have had my share of issues.
1. My son came to the autocross and hung out. What I did not know, was that to prevent boredom, he brought a REAM of paper and put it under the passenger seat. I found out when I hit the brakes hard on the first corner and hundreds of papers came flying out, filling the cabin.
2. Left the jack in the trunk (MR2)
3. Left the jack thing in the trunk (Elise)
4. Had the Elise turn signal pop out in the front under braking.
5. Left garage door remote on visor. Flew off midcorner and out the window.
6. Going down the straight at Willow Springs. Pulled off the bite tube for my water...spraying water all around the cabin while doing 120+.

Would you mind if I test my moderating abilities and merge this post with the original one?

Years ago went to a Pro in central Cal. We were pitted next to a guy who was racing a nissan p/u in a truck class they had back then. He had a hard shell cover over the bed. He came back from his first set of runs furious with himself... he had left a small BBQ in the bed by accident. Needless to say, he did quite a bid a damage to the bed during his run, lots of outtie dents. We saw the humor in it.... but for some reason, he didnt.

at some point, I would have to believe a sensible person would have to ask themselves "is this banging really worth it for 1 timed run?"

So, he's left-foot braking but lifts each time. What's the point?

Why would I overlap, I don't have a turbo, it still cuts down the time from gas to brake. btw the point was the tire gauge.

Ohhhh, those are your feet.
Really, the point was the tire gauge? Such sophisticated subtlety is clearly lost on my feeble brain.

Interesting smooth non-heel-toe 3-2 downshift in there. Not quite sure how that's done without upsetting the chassis.

Mad skills... And pedals that I can't quite get to work with my feet any other way. I use to heel in toe, but that is a skill I have long forgotten. You should see the 5-4-3 down shift on the road course with my technique (actually works fine once you get the timing down).

Cool video.
Reminds me of the Dave Schotz video we used to have on ChaseCam. It showed him working the pedals, very similar shot. Even the socks looked the same.
So I get a phone call one day at ChaseCam: "Umm... do you have more videos like that, the ones that show the feet?" Me, not catching on yet: "Not really, I might be able to upload some other heal-toe videos."
Caller: "I like to see more. With the socks. I want to have video of guys feet in socks."
Me: WTF.. click

So Jason, I've got to know...did you have any problems braking at the end there when the gauge went under the brake pedal. That seems a little sketchy.
