I'm in the market for one of these, and I'm curious what people are using. Any suggestions, sources and/or pics?

This is the one I have. It has always worked perfectly and is pretty versatile.

I use this one from ChaseCam: http://www.chasecam.com/mounts/suction/SM30" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Works great on both the roof or the inside of the window, which is where I had it this week. I don't have the special window mount extension thing so the camera is upside down, but it's easy to flip in iMovie.

Thanks, those both look great. I'll have to mull it over for a while and think of exactly where I want to mount the camera, how I want to orient it, etc. before I choose.

ChaseCam is made by one of us and is a site sponsor if that helps your decision. :D

On the other hand, the mount I pointed out is more than likely made in China and they are propping up our entire financial system. :lol:

But yes, we should support Randy when we can. :thumbup:

Thanks for the input, guys! I went with Randy's suction-cup mount:

I'm really impressed with how the suction cups stick! With six of them, you can stick it on a somewhat curved fender panel (provided your paint is reasonably shiny and smooth) even though it's designed for glass, and the extension arm gives a lot of options for camera placement. Rock-solid metal balljoint at the base of the arm. A quality piece!! :thumbup:
