80cc Shifter Kart - El Toro?

Hey Guys,
I am interested in running my Kart next weekend if it not too late to register.
Unfortunately I just found out about the events at El Toro, so I am definatlely behind the 8 ball in getting prepared...
1- is it too late to register? (I only saw Jr. Karts, what could I register as?)
2- any tips on where to buy some safety equip quickly and reasonably priced?
3- any place to practice before next weekend? (I have never driven a shifter kart before)
I live in Orange, and could really use and would appreciate some advise.
Thank you in advance.

Too late for the practice. You have to run in F125 for the Championship. K1 sells kart equipment, though not sure what's at the tracks. Go online to
http://www.k1racegear.com/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Don't need to buy "real" gear though. All you really need is jeans, any jacket, gloves, full face helmet, and a neck collar. Probably don't need a rib vest for an 80cc.
There is a track at AAA speedway that has open track days when there is not real race. Around $45 for the whole day.

Hey Guys,
I know it is a few months later...but I am finally ready to come out and have some fun at the practice event this month.
I purchased all of my gear, pulled the Kart off the wall (after about a year and a half), bled the brakes and fired up the motor.
I am looking for a place locally to just drive it around for a little bit to make sure there arent any remaining bugs.
Does anyone know where I can take it out just to run it around for a little bit before taking it out to an event?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks!
-Greg
