1991 MR2 $4,900

This car has treated me well the last 2+ years I have owned it. The only trouble it ever gave me was a ruptured coolant hose. It ripped where it was clamped down. Last weekend I drove this car to Laguna Seca. I did 4 sessions and Jeff did 1. I drove it back. I put 1,076.9 miles, including track time. That should say a lot as far as reliability goes. The car does well and holds it's own wherever I take it. gets 25+ mpg with it's 200hp N/A engine. This car is my daily. I don't know that it would be a good daily for someone else but it's sound and stiff coilovers don't bother me. I am daily driving it as we speak.

-3SGE BEAMS w/ VVT-i (Engine was installed by a Toyota certified master technician at Kearny Mesa Toyota with about 5K miles on it. less than 25k miles have been put on it since)
-Megan Racing Coilover Suspension (Height and dampening levels are adjustable)
-3 point custom rollcage with removable 3rd point.
-Tanabe Front Strut Bar
-Rear Strut Bar
-Rear strut plates
-Rear cross bar
-Front and rear anti-sway bars
-Fender braces
-Smaller steering wheel
-Short shifter
-UH Shifter bushings
-Carbon cooling plate
-Drilled & Slotted rotors
-Performance brakes
-LoJack
-Toyota dealership installed alarm system
-Optima Battery
-Battery Voltage stabilizer
-Sony sound system (Boxes for the front speakers and CD player w/ MP3 and AUX)
-Clarion rear speakers (Box and installation warranty)
-Gorilla lug nuts
-Driver's side 4 point racing harness
-95 MR2 Kouki round tail lights
-Carbon fiber pop-up headlight panels
-Diamond cut headlight casing (way lighter than stock lights)
-INtec headlights
-Dealership installed fuel hose
-dealership installed radiator hoses
-dealership installed radiator
-center arm rest and shifter plate
-center storage compartment
-New shift boot
-Sunroof cover
-New sunroof
-Custom license plate (MR2SW21)
-Japanese wipers
-New wheels and tires
-Fresh paint within the last 18 months. Basecoat and 2x clearcoat.

The bad;
-Needs a steering rack from what I have been told. Ringer has one. You may be able to bribe him for it.
-Previous owner told me he put in urethane bushings. They make noise. I think they need to be oiled?
-Tach is not hooked up
-Horn is not hooked up because I have an aftermarket steering wheel. I can include stock wheel with the car
-Needs a new drivers side rear caliper. $70.
-No A/C. Last time I checked it would hold a charge. Converted to 134 already. It just wont hold an idle with it on according to my mechanic. It was drained to fix it. I live near the coast where it does not get that hot so I never got around to it. I would be happy to give perspective buyer his info to figure out exactly what is up with the A/C.
-Needs new front tires.

Over $25,000 has put into this car. Most of the work was done by Toyota. When I posted this car for sale a few years ago I was asking $9,900. The rear clip alone cost more than what I am asking for the car now.

$4,900.

Pictures were taken before the rollbar was put in. Blue harnesses were taken out and will not be included.

Someone is going to get themselves a very, very nice car. I don't know if you guys have seen it clean. The paint is brand new and it shines.

I had multiple people offer me 8k for it a couple years ago when I had it posted for $9,900. I thought about it, put my Rx-7 bills on my credit card (reason I was selling the car then, Rx-7 bills) and decided 8k was not enough and kept the car. Bad call LOL. Woulda coulda shoulda.

It has treated me well the last few years. If I come across some money (crossing my fingers for that rare spider to have babies) I will keep it longer, at least until my Miata is done. In the end though I have no reason to have 4 cars. The Miata will be my daily and track car so the MR2 will have lost her place.

BTW: willing to trade + cash on your end for an early Miata. I have worked for Monster Miata for a while. I figured it was about that time

I wish I was teeny enough to fit into one of those. They look like a blast!

C'mon Kurt - you can fit in there. Just not all at the same time...

Can't you just stick your head out the sunroof?

Seriously though, I fit fine in one. You're not that much bigger than me...

I took a ride in Ringer's MR2 and had to shoehorn myself in very uncomfortably. And I didn't have to deal with a steering wheel. My torso is unfortunately longer than my legs, so headroom is always my problem.

You guys crack me up. The car fits me perfectly! All 5'5" of me :D

I sold it Friday night. The guy came down and took it home.

I paid some debts, got a little left and I am now looking for a NA Miata.

Funny thing is, this car used to have a cup holder that attached to the A/C/heater vents. Worked great
