It takes some very brave people to offer to help a newb design his first course, so I will like to extend a huge thank you to all the people that offered to assist with the course setup:

Bob, Tom, Robert, Kathy and John you guys are awesome, you gave me many excellent advice for improvements and helped me execute them.

I will also like to thank Mike Simanyi, Toby, Ken, Eric, Christine, Doug and anyone else that I may be forgetting for all the lessons and advice. It was a collective CSCC effort.

I thought you did a good job designing the course Theo!

I had fun on both Saturday's (b4 and after changes) & Sunday's course. THANKS THEO & EVERYONE ELSE!

Getting to drive other ppl's cars is also very fun

As far as I know, there were very few DNFs. And some of those were from good drivers that most likely over-drove a section. At the same time most people seemed to really enjoy the course. Minimizing getting lost and maximizing having fun, I would say, is a big success.

I was talking to a couple people after their runs and this one guy said it was one of the funnest courses he's driven in a while. Good job on the layout man.

I think a lot of folks didn't realize there might be Fun Runs at the end of the day. They're always scrambling to get enough folks to do Fun Runs but they almost never announce the possibility of Fun Runs early in the day.

Kathy did 4 free fun runs with no course work. We did clean up as our work. It was great!

Theo, since somehow I actually won, I think you did an outstanding job and want to see another of your courses just as soon as I can.

After experiencing both long and short courses at a variety of autocrosses in a variety of regions, I have to say these 2 courses were by far the easiest to follow and fun to drive! I cannot wait to do another 2 days at El Toro!

Nicely done Theo! I've heard a lot of people had fun on the course. There's a huge learning curve to come down regarding course designs. Now that you've done one, walk all the courses you run carefully, and look at each element to see if you'd do it the same way. Look at the way multiple elements work together to create a flow and rhythm, and always remember to build courses to minimize needless cone action (generally leaving the back wall of a turn very far away from the apex cones, as opposed to bringing the back wall into play for the normal driving line.)

You did fantastically well for your first effort - way better than I did. And now you get to learn, learn and learn some more. Tell me in a couple months if the experience helps your course walks and driving.

I also felt the course was excellent for a first timer, and very good for any designer. I second Mike's comments regarding the learning process.

You will also find that designing a course will help you become a better driver. When you have to examine and investigate a corner to that degree, you really gain an understanding of it. Also, when you learn that changing the location of a cone even 1 foot can change the entire corner/feature, you start to think about how setting your car up 1 foot over more, or getting within that foot to the apex cone can affect your speed through that corner/feature.
