Registration is now open at http://solo2.motorsportsreg.com. We're testing out a new system for registration. You'll be required to enter payment information, just like with normal practices. And, just like normal practices, payments won't be processed until the confirmed list is determined. Feel free to post here or email me and/or George Schilling if you have any questions.

Thanks in advance!
KJ

Since we actually have to select which of the 4 categories we're in (attending nats, contributor, points card holder, everyone else), a definition of "contributors" would be helpful.

Contributors would include Board members, club reps, event Chiefs and others on the Contacts page @ solo2.com. Plus anyone who gets noticed as always helping out at events without being asked. When there is a call for volunteers, who consistently is the first to come running. Those of us in charge absolutely do notice people that "give back" and reward them when we can. Lisa Severy and Christine Berry are prime examples to me.

Rick's answer covers it. Here's a summary version:

"Core member of the event and region. If you have to ask, you aren't." ;)

Edited to add: which is to say, don't be afraid to help! You'll get to know a lot of great people much better and probably make some new friends.

Very nice! I don't know how it is to deal with on the backend, but the UI is great!

I was wondering that too, since a different person does registation each time, ;)

I'd register online guys since whoever gets your check is probably going to be confused.

I sent to my check to the address that was on the flyer-George at his business address. I did register online as well.

Sue

The flyer has changed since I saw it a few days ago. At least it's going to George so he'll know what's going on. :)

Have to agree the helping part is actually a lot of fun. Still haven't done gate yet but working my way around the horn. Sort a kinda did chalk, but am not sure if it was me or the spreader that wanted to dump it all in one spot. I like tech. Radio is ok, would be better if everyone had numbers you could actually read at speed. Cone shagger is good for one go round, then the repaired knee protests. Helping to set up the course is fun and you get a lot of speculation on how it is going to work, and you get the skinny from the mouth of the designer. Setting up the timing in the motor home needs a manual and marked wires, fun, but I would never have found the spare fuses, I still haven't gotten both the start and finish lights to work at the same time, and if you do set up anything on top of the motor home, bring hand wash and spare clothes, don't wear shorts.

My two thoughts are volunteering can be tiring but it's fun, and you meet people who are helpful by nature, otherwise they wouldn't put themselves out beyond the minimum. Second is you learn a lot. You learn why certian features show up in certain places, you hear the safety discussions. You find people who are passionate about the sport, not just the driving.

The only other thing I have found as fun as volunteering is to let people ride with you. You can learn a lot, that way, of course letting some people drive you car tells you a lot too.

May be I arrived just at the right time, seems there is a transfer of the flag form the old guard to the new guard. I think I have volunteered on three teams now that were first time course designers. .

This really is fun stuff.

You are not supposed to pay. You will only be charged if you make the list of attendees.
