Cam is now 18th on the message board total posts leaderboard.
Doesn't that and the 8 very long and very very very fast laps he got at El Toro pretty much fully qualify him for participation in the NOTLD???

When the market (Dow Jones Industrial Average) loses 240 points in a day (like today), is when he's bored! Unless he made some timely "puts" on options then he'd be singing from the rooftops!

Sorry that your stocks took a dump!
We can look at each and every novice competitor and decide if they are ready for the NOLD.
“You are OK but not you or you or you.” (not a good way to do this IMHO)
Or we can make a rule that covers every novice competitor.
A) Run in class. Work assignment is to setup /chalk and pick up cones after the event or prove that you can work in the dark.
B) No novice competitors.

Yeah, but bringing to the top raises a stink.

Dude! Whats your problem with me?
I post alot because I've gotten very hooked on this whole Solo thing....
I thought this was a fun site but if my getting all excited & constant posting is a negative I'll back off.

Huh? I was on your side?
I really just wanted to point out that you're not really like the typical person showing up at the gate for the first time. You've "researched" this out pretty thoroughly. And you got 8 laps in at El Toro which is the seat time equivalent to nearly 3 championships.
You misread my post.
The attacks where from others mainly against me!!!!

........... Uhmmmmm.... ok.
Maybe I miss read your intentions.....
But saying that I had some VERY VERY VERY fast laps sure sounded sarcastic to me.

Cam, Cam, Cam..........you are the unusual newbie in that you post a lot, are very excited about the sport and want to dive right in. Much appreciated. As for the forums, believe it or not, when you MEET people in person (especially keyboard jockeys - as Brian Robertson likes to call us, such as Steve, myself, and others), you'll learn not to take posts very seriously and that it's all in fun.
But do read posts and then double read them to get the intent of the poster. Steve was actually on your side in backing you up. In my humble opinion, NOTLD event would be a really BAD 1st event for you. Again just my opinion. But if you do live close to the Speedway, by all means come on out and see what it's like. And then for next year, you'll be more comfortable in driving in the semi-dark.

Never saw your laps.
What I saw was a test n tune course much longer than normal and extremely fast. Probably too fast. But the point was, you've done this and thusly have a enough experience in my opinion to get over the threshold for this event.
But ignore all that. Tom the event master has posted the expectations for new people. Follow that and you should be golden.

And Gio...
My point is that it won't be like a first event for Cam. He's had 8 laps on a course that was probably 50% longer than the NOTLD course will be. And probably twice as fast!
And he's asked every conceivable question.
Its not like somebody showing up at the gate cold.

Ah yes, just got the e-mail preview, so looks you're in Cam if you choose to enter. I personally recommend NOT to buy a points card until after Sept. That way in October when renewals start, if you're a true new member, you get 3 months free for 2008 and then all of 2009. Since a points card is not required, the other rules you follow to the letter and you're in. This is the equivalent of diving into the "deep" end of the pool.

Ah I see...well it's not like there's going to be 100 newbies, so he'll be fine. And if from what you're saying is correct, then a faster than normal test-n-tune will be like FF then when comes to NOTLD it'll be like slo-motion.
Yes he does asks questions which is good. I'm surprised the $olo Bucks question isn't on the FAQ. Will have to add that.

Careful with the smack now...
My 85ftlbs of axle sparing torque powers a car that is quite nimble. And I paxed pretty high at last years NOTLD.
But me and the hot rod will be in Packwood, WA for the SCCA National Tour event.

Yes Cam....careful. I hate Hondas because they look like Sh**boxes........yet are so nimble, and narrow, that their laptimes will amaze you! And Steve has certainly stepped up his game. Laptimes don't lie. Good job at the Divisional Steve.

In Steve's absence, you can try to spank me in the G35 whale. It's a large enough target that you shouldn't be able to miss (or ignore) it. Catch me if you can.

Kurt's a great target for the Rustang.
But I can't get out of my nightmares the time Tom Berry ran in that whale. And now that Kurt has seen what his ridiculous car is capable of, he's driving it pretty darn fast.

My F-stocker would love to get into this fight--

--but it will be sitting in the garage. While my wife and I will be visiting the great NW and my family. We will also be stopping by Packwood with my "once-n-done" sprite.
