Time to get some SSR's!
"Finally, we wanted to evaluate our changes every step of the way. A lot of people tend to follow prevailing wisdom or assumption to throw a bunch of parts at a car. We want to know just how much each components or changes helps-or hurts-our march toward success. With the help of our partners at Tire Rack and their test track we will do our best to measure the effects of every tweak." - John Rogers GRM October 2010
I'm amazed that the 'hot setup' was not examined further. I'd be interested to see how the results would have ended up with the TRMotorsports C3 + 245/40/17 Dunlops. Also I wonder if the 3mm in offset difference would have made a difference.
Kosei K1 TS 17x9: 45mm Offset
TRMotorsports C3 17x9: 48mm Offset

I like the ad on the side "make 'er scream with parts you can trust", lol, GENIUS!
Yea, way too many combinations going on.
I would also like to see 255/40 on the Kosei's and/or if 245/40 is still the best, try it w/ full tread, 6/10, 4/10. O the possibilities.
QV
- going back to taking a bunch of old parts off & throwing a bunch of new parts at his car while screaming "go faster!"

I am scratching my head on how an October 2010 article gets published in August. Somebody is sneaking a look at issues in work.

My intuition says that it's the tire size, not the weight, that gives most of the benefit. We've all seen straight-up wheel weight comparisons before, right? Not a lot of difference in those. Not 0.7 seconds.

Magazine dates are funny. They're used to indicate how long they should be kept on store shelves, so they show up well in advance of the date on the cover. On another forum, someone said that the GRM October issue (or September/October issue? -- 10 issues/year) is mailing out now.
