Kurt, is there anyway to know if the course will be designed a little bit better than the last event at Lemoore NAS? I really like the site and the surface, but given the distance it helps to know. Thanks.

From this thread:

It looks like talk about duplicating one of the courses from nationals, but that thread seems pretty dead..

I can't ensure it'll make everyone happy, but it'll definitely be different than the last one
My taste of a good course is fast but a little bit technical. Good flow is what I'm aiming for..........definitely the super slow stuff is out of the door.
Crossing my fingers it'll suit most of those in attendance

One of the main issues with the previous course was the converging point near the helipad. There were 3 times you drove toward that spot which killed the overlap and pushed each run group back. The wait between runs distracted drivers from the good elements that the course had. I enjoyed the technicality and the fact you had to look way ahead to figure out the cone layout.
I received the email that registration closes today. I highly recommend this site. The scenery, surface and region members are super.

If numbers stay this low, I'll be proposing 6 runs ;)

Anyone have any comments on how Lemoore is for tire wear? Is it that high abrasive, kind of "sharp points" kind of concrete?
thanks

Trounced by an ST Civic. The humanity! Video at 11.
Nice driving Jonathan.
Mike, the surface appears to be smoother than most concrete sites. I would imagine it's less abrasive than the Winton Ramp for example. I can't really comment on tire wear as I was running a new (to me) tire and didn't know what to expect.

I found it to be somewhat abrasive. I lost a couple /32 on my Toyos in 10 almost back to back runs.
I think there were a couple of elements that combined with my lack of throttle control, lead to increased wear.
The site and was good, the folks were friendly (except one Sailor who gave us a hard time at the gate), I would definitely return...but I would choose a different hotel.
It's weird calling the personnel "Sailors" when we were so far from the ocean. ;)

What is more commonly used?
Sailors or seamen?

Squids.
(OK, that coming from a former Marine............

)

I thought there was no such thing as a "former" Marine ;)
Thanks for the thoughts on the surface. I'm looking forward to getting down there, even if it is a frickin' 3 hour drive.

Welcome to my world for the past few years Mike. ;)
Video of some of my runs:

Car has no prep to speak of. Mystery performance alignment, stock-sized (ish) RE-01Rs. Otherwise as it left the showroom. Can you say sloppy?
Results will be here when they're completed - which may be a few days as they're done by hand the old fashioned way.

Top PAX goes to Lugod over Wong.
Maybe. ;) My runs don't match my timeslips much.
