Some of them are competing with me for the handful of non-technical writing jobs. A few might have a shot at a medical or science writing gig. Zell saved Ducati, but his actions with Tribune are making a profitable business less so.

5. Who wears a shirt when on unemployment?
3. Well considering what I used to do, this should be #1 on the list. Not having to drive 400+ miles a day is a plus
1. Is it too early to start on the Scotch at noon? Start any earlier and the bottle goes dry before the nights over.
But you forgot #6. UI pays more a week than I was making in the last 6 months of part time work.
I'd rather have a job. My electric bill last month was $60. Double what it was when I was working.

When I'm not working, it's me, the A/C, the computer, and the welders(MIG and TIG). I was actually surprised it was only $60. But damn, $400.

You gotta learn to turn some lights off when you're not in the room.

We have fluorescents everywhere.
And while we often have 3 tvs on at once and way too many lights, I don't think that's it.
I think its just our poor insulation and our 30yo A/C pump.

Our water/electric bill use to hit $1K+ for two months in the summer ... 1/2 acre landscaping, dark bottom pool ... evaporates up to 1/2" per day, AC for 3,500 sq ft.

Yeah, but she gets to berate the ignorant and gets paid for it. I can only dream of such a job. And it's not as high on the dream list as winning the lotto and retiring.

wow, someone else is unemployed too? freaking airline industry... well, I should just blame it on the price of oil cuz that's what's screwing us over.
But hey, sometimes it pays to have kewl ppl in the know. I was lucking enuf to get a fun part time job. Sometimes it's more fun than my "real" job. The ppl I work with are great, except for this one co-worker, always wearing a turrleneck, and it's summer in L.A! What a freak...
