I think we've tried everything when it comes to removing cone marks, with nothing being that great.

But today I came up with a concoction that REALLY worked!

Mothers Black Streak Remover Spray mixed with Krud Kutter ... which seems to be a Goo Begone type product, but it states that it's biodegradable.

I was running out of the Mother's Spray, so I poured in some Krud Kutter ... sprayed it on and by the time I got back to the other side of the Vette, the black streaks literally wiped right off with virtually no pressure.

hmmm ... maybe the Krud Kutter works by itself. I bought the sample bottle from a Chevy dealer/parts store ... but the Sprayer Attachment didn't work, so I never actually tried it before

I'm curious though... I was always under the impression Gel-coat products were formulated more aggressively since Gel-Coats are usually much thicker than paint on metal.
BTW, Mako, where do you buy your Mother's Marine-Line products?

I didn't know it was a Marine Product ... but Karen probably got it at West Marine at the Marina?

Karen said it's not a Marine product ... and she didn't buy it at a WestMarine ... but it's not that easy to find ... so, I would mail order it.

BUT, I would first order the Krud Kutter and try it by itself. I didn't because the spray attachment is broken, but I could just put some on a rag to test.

Goo gone on dry rag works wonders. Use some spray wax afterwards.....

And for really bad marks, use Goof Off.
Keeps my white cars white.

I like bug & tar remover...I think I've got the Turtle Wax brand. It also helps to keep the front corners freshly waxed so future cone fwapps come off more easily. Come to think of it, I hit more cones with the rocker panels than the nose.

What color is the bottle of Mother's Black Streak Remover that did work for you?

You sure it wasn't a blue bottle of Meguiar's #70 Black Streak Remover?

The red one like you showed ... but it was almost empty, so I added the Krud Kutter, since IT'S sprayer was not working. It DIDN'T work well W/O the Krud Kutter ... don't waste your money.

I like the 3M adhesive remover, as it is really multi purpose. Not only works much better than Goof Off or Goo be gone or whatever for decal adhesive residue (think Tour/Pro stickers), but also is fantastic on cone marks...not that I'd know much about cone marks ;)

Some of the guys here were using xylene to get rid of cone scuffs - might be an ingredient in some of those better cleaners ... cutting to the chase here!

Of course, it is some nasty stuff .. seemingly like most "good" stuff.

Xylene/Toluene will really cut through wax! I think I prefer the "oily" type adhesive removers like Goo Begone. The question is, what is the op's recommended Krud Kutter made of, with it's claim to being bio-degradable?
