I think this would be perfect for Puertas new car. Two Yamaha R1 motors combined to a V8, 2.0l 380HP @13000RPM N/A. Nice article about the build in Racecar engineering. Cost ~$40K

I suggested putting one of those in Bill Martin's Europa a couple of years ago.
But it might be alright in the formula car too...
OTOH, a plain old Hayabusa motor or even a K20 would be enough to make the old Mondiale scary.

But sheesh, at least give me 6 months before I get bored with the Ford motor...

I think this is the first one using the Yamaha components. The other V8's where based on the Hayabusa and made about 320HP from 2.6l. I think that's the one in the Radical.

How about a nice S-2000 engine and trans?
I just happen to have one.

S2000 motor and trans too big and heavy. But I may have a need for the motor :) Assuming you don't mean a Pinto motor...

That's funny.
I assumed he meant the Honda drivetrain too. But couldn't imagine what I'd do with a S2000 transmission in a mid-engined car.
However, if you mean a Sports 2000 motor, that might be interesting.
:-)

^yeah, that type of "S2000" might be a little more compelling :)

If you're like me (when I was driving an FF), you'll get tired of the motor pretty quickly...fortunately, all the other stuff that goes with those cars has long term entertainment value!

I remember Robert linking a 2.0L R1 based V8 a few years ago. Some italian firm had one in a L7 clone.
