If I read the rules right, these classes can use any fuel (within certain limitations), but race fuels are allowed, and race fuels have octane levels in the 100+ range.

Am I missing something here?

Dude, welcome to the 20XXs! Yes, one can run E85 - like the Berrys & I have been using for awhile.

From the Rulebook:

3.6.B
In addition to fuels which are allowed by 3.6.A, Street Prepared,
Street Modified, Prepared, and Modified category vehicles may use
diesel fuel or any grade of gasoline. Gasolines consist entirely of
hydrocarbon compounds. Gasoline may contain antioxidants, metal
deactivators, corrosion inhibitors, and lead alkyl compounds such as
tetraethyl lead. Oxygen and/or nitrogen bearing additives are prohibited
except for those originally present in service station pump fuel.
Oxygen and/or nitrogen bearing oil additives are prohibited in twocycle
engine oiling systems.

So, it seems I can run VP C16, C23, VP 110 which are not oxigenated and satisfy the rules above.

Then, I wonder if E85 actually offers higher octane (on properly tuned car) than a car tuned for the fuels above?

I'm looking at a 20 whp increase on fuel change alone.

NITRO METHANE!!!!!!! That will make the Fiat really fast! Good thing you can't use that.

e85 is roughly equivalent to c16 on a turbo car power wise, and at 20% the cost.
