The racers and track day junkies in my motorcycle club love it. The owners show up to some of our bike nights.

One of our guys, Jonathan Elfalan, did a video of Chuckwalla, driving a WRX STI:

Don't crash. The nearest hospital is like 90 miles away.

Unless you go off and roll your car, the only other place you can crash there is the wall on the front straight.

That wall looks pretty close ... and people have hit the pit wall coming out of the last corner at Buttonwillow ... which looks to be further away.

(Did they change the pit entrance at Buttonwillow ... to be before the last corner, or is that the way it always was?)

A close wall "generally" is safer than a far wall for you. Not necessarily for your pocket book though as your car is more likely to hit it.

I see far more bad trackday tumbling cars than huge wall hits. One of the reasons I wish runoffs were paved.

Hmm. Come to think of it, I've never seen them together in the same place...

It's always been like that....on either direction.
