In ASP, Saturday ... Ken, Jason I, Henry, Stacey Mollocker ... with Ken and Henry only getting their morning runs in. A short circuit cut out half of the cylinders when they tried to do their second set of runs? Fixed now. Six drivers in ASP ... they got their class.
Any other results trickling in?

Apparently James didn't even have a matching set of tires for the Escort ... Nitto's in front and Falken's in the back! Drove it all the way from Houston.
Ken/Jason U/Henry left before the SuperC

yeah, his main competitors in class coned out, which gave him the top qualifier spot. James drove very well, but the car seemed to be leaking sand everywhere, haha.
That coarse was, unique.. every BMW STU car should have been there, haha.

It had to be transition hell looking at STS civics compared to the rally cars. Remember 4100ft elevation and pro solo starts. An evo or STI should have spanked a wheezing civie by days.

No straights, but no slow turns, all slaloms of one type or another with a turn around, on concrete.

McCormick is pretty good at those left right left right left right things.
I wonder if Andy has his car too loose for such a course?

Looked like Andy was on the wrong tire. McCormick went to a hot new wheel tire combo.

I know the Kumhos are persona non grata for the solo stuff, but wasn't sure if either Kevin was just doing it anyway or if the Pro was different.
So what size dunlops and what happen to Kevin and Kumho.

I'd guess they'd be letting him off the hook for the year since they didn't get thier tires in gear quick enough.. Dunno the size, but i think it was on a tall wheel.

Wow, just saw Andy's post on SCCAforums.
It was a 215-40-17 front and 195-55-15 rear.
That's a hugely tall tire and a heavier package for the civie. Really surprised it didn't throughly kill acceleration especially at altitude where one of the hot rodders tricks is to run a SHORTER tire.
Interesting.... Crap, and expensive to chase.

How do the dunlaps like slippery stuff or cold?
Just wondering if hot concrete is the ticket for Dunlops or something.

Kumho gave him a pass because the new tire wasn't ready.

Found some wheels.
Where do I get Dunlops? And what do they like for shaving? 4/32nds?

My tire guy is Luke at the Tire Rack - he got us the last living set of Dunlops in our size in the country (we think)! He had them shipped from their warehouses all over to their Indy warehouse where they got shaved - we do 4/32ndths but they do wear a LOT faster than the Yok's, so it'll depend on what you're looking for...
Anyhow, Luke is a super good guy - he'll hook ya up

I think they like cold and slippery better than HOT!
