Hello all,
I have a set of aluminum wheels that I want to get cleaned up and then painted / clear coated / powder coated. Does anyone know a wheel repair shop in Orange County that they would trust?
Thanks!

Hello all,
Can't speak to Orange County. If San Diego is not out of the question you may wish to check
tomswheels@yahoo.com. 760-855-5949. I recently bought a set of refurbished OEM C5 Corvette magnesium wheels from him. They are like brand new, with the only (minor) flaws being on the inside behind the spokes. If they are race wheels, you might want to avoid powder coating. There is some controversy about the heat required to cure the powder coat causing aluminum to become brittle.

They're not in Orange County, but Pico Wheel does really great work.

I go to one in LA county in El Monte
Rainbow Polishing
10050 Fern St
El Monte, CA 91733
(626) 575-1300
Call before and also tires need to be dismounted before they get there. They offer the lowest price I know of and do a good job.

Hi all,
thanks for the replies! El Montie might work, but San Diego is a bit far, although I do go down there to visit friends from time to time. My work often takes me to the the Torrance / Long Beach area in addition to Orange County, so any recommendations for a place I can got to on my way to / from the customer would work great.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Collin

When you're in Torrance, head up Western to just past 166th St (just past the railroad tracks) and look for Bolton's Classic Wheels: they're in that group of old storefronts on the right. I used to send a lot of stuff there for polishing and they always did good work.

Check out
http://rawspecwheels.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; he should be still located in oc. It's been a while since I talked to him but that guy is a mad scientist when it comes to wheels.

Al Reed has been in the wheel repair refinishing business in SoCal longer than anybody I think. I've been going to him for 25 yrs. He's chromed wheels for Penske Indy Cars when they've come to Long Beach. He's the man for the Porsche Club of America, they send wheels to him from all over the country. And, he's not expensive. Tell him Dave Crandon sent ya.
