Would have liked to have seen the sample jacket passed around during the banquet. Realize it is unlikely to be a big hit with the championship crowd but I for one would considering buying if the price is reasonalbe. If it can be personalized even better.

Would you like to have your brand new, personal jacket passed around through 100 hands that just got done eating sausages? I doubt Mike does either. You should have come up to see it. Mike was wearing it all through the tear down.

Sorry, though the one he showed was a sample. Once it put away it was somewhat out of mind. Didn't notice he was wearing it. However wanted to kick off the discussion as was suggested.

Seems like the jacket should be the exclusive property of Championship winners, not available by simple purchase, but only earned by purchasing the right car and then working your butt off campaigning it against like minded individuals. You'll notice that Champs put a LOT of effort into looking for the right class and car. It staggers me to realize the amount of detail someone like Ken Moto knows about his competition (how often each one Red Lights their Pro Starts), how much Toby knows about set-up, how much perserverience Schenker has, how much isolated Slalom practice Brian Peters did, how much design and build expertise Jason Rhodes has. You can't buy that type of dedication. They say if you practice something 10,000 times you begin to master it. I wouldn't want to dilute the exclusivity of a Champ jacket by having jackets available to everyone.

"Sample" Jacket was a different color, and the only embroidery on it was a 25th anniversery logo. Not a champion's jacket.

It's available in blue, all black, and gray like the youth jacket. The red should be reserved for the Champions.

Just because your not running for a championship doesn't mean your not part of the game. Who knows, on a lark you might come out and run an event. Can't believe your not tempted by Pro Solo, but none the less I would class it as on sabbatical. When you have a driver in another series like this week at Daytona, they still refer to the drivers by the past series they either run currently or did run, such as F-1, Indy, NASCAR. Your just a former Solo II competitor. You have just chosen the easier path of having a course that is wider, doesn't change between practice and competition and which you can come back to and apply past knowledge.

By the way how did Karen do over the weekend?

The jackets turned out even better than I had hoped.

And I was expecting them to be good, so I purchased one personally, requesting our 25th Anniversary logo on the chest, suggesting to Rick that he may want to sell them if there's demand.

I really wouldn't have minded the hands on the jacket - that's what washing machines are for. But it was put away when Steve was done showing it and nobody asked to see it. I'm sure I'll have it at upcoming events. It's a really nice product! Hunt me down to check it out and let Rick know if you have any interest.
