I can't contain myself. My buddy and teammate shot 268, 277, 244; 789 last night. He closed the first game with 10 strikes and opened the second game with 8 for 18 in a row. I'm lucky to get 2 in a row. Nice bowling Tim. :D

Oh yeah, as a team (3 man) we shot 728 plus 50 (I pretty much single handedly supply the handicap for the team) the second game for a new league high of 778. We were having fun.

That's more my speed too. I'm really happy if I break 100. My form is really embarrassing too. I bowl like Bam Bam.

I think in all of the games I've bowled, I haven't scored 789 lifetime. I have to say, if I can find a ball that's the right weight and has the right finger holes, I'm not completely pathetic. Maybe hit 120. And it is a fun way to spend a few hours. Especially if there's beer. :D

I've bowled one time the last 10 years. First game back was about a 210-215. I was feeling pretty high on myself. But by the end of the game I was throwing as hard as I could and lofting the ball to get over the dried out heads. The ball was squeaking on the lane. I should have known the trouble I'd be in. Total crash and burn from there as I killed the ball all I could and still rolled out. Totally sucked and probably didn't hit more than 145 the rest of the night.

Went home....

Couldn't raise my arm for a week. Couldn't fold my thumb in for a couple of days.

Brutal. I'm soooo out of shape.

I think my best game ever was a 170 or so, but I looked great doing it...seriously, I think I have good form. Those 4 bowling lessons in 1986 really paid off. :D

my childhood friend 'Harry' had 'back to back' 300 games once......simply amazing! too bad he never made it to the pros - maybe because when he was not bowling he was smoking bowls

ok i think i need a rest from the computer after this post #10 of mine

A nice set by TA to be sure, but probably not close to his lifetime high series. I'd be shocked if he hasn't had several 800+ series. "Back in the day" Timmy was truly one of the nation's elite players. 'Course I'm just pissed that he just beat my lifetime high of 783 at age, what is he, 80-something? ;) Although I did have 24-in-a-row one night, across games 2 thru 4 of a four game doubles league: 248-300-248. 18 in a row will certainly get your attention and I would have loved to have been there to see it. George, you say "Torrance" - was it at Gable House? Tim used to OWN that place.

It's on Western south of Carson St. I think it's called Bowl O Drome.

I had 21 strikes in a row once and did NOT bowl a 300.

left a 7 pin in the first frame, whiffed it. Then threw 21 in a row. For a 279, then staring at a chance for my first 300 I just hit it a little hard with the fingers and got an 8-10 split in the 11th. Left the 10 pin for a 287.

It's interesting what your knees tend to do with that many strikes lined up. I think the worst thing is that everybody else stops bowling to watch and the place gets real quiet. It's a moment when you definitely know you're alive.
