Hello Solo2 members!

The Cal Poly Pomona Formula SAE team will be holding a fundraising BBQ event this weekend at both the practice and championship events. We will be grilling burgers (beef and BOCA) and hot dogs, as well as providing chips and drinks. Your support will help fund the program and ensure it keeps progressing.

Formula SAE (FSAE) is a collegiate design competition series providing university level students with the challenge to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with a small formula style racing car. With engineering development in mind, SAE sanctions FSAE through specific rules and regulations that engage student knowledge, creativity, and imagination. Teams must respond to real world challenges of systems engineering design and problem-solving as well as team challenges like communication and leadership. Since its creation in 1981, FSAE has been an integral enhancement to mobility engineering worldwide.

CPP Formula SAE has been around since 1988 and ranks #1 in California
• 2010 Formula SAE California: 7th place design.
• 2009 Formula Student Germany: 8th place in design event, 11th in endurance.
• 2009 Formula SAE West: 4th place in acceleration and 6th place in design event.
• 2008 Formula SAE West: 1st place in endurance and skid pad, 5th overall.
• 2007 Formula SAE Italy: 5th overall, 3rd in design presentation.
• 2007 Formula SAE West: 11th overall, 3rd in sales/marketing presentation.
• 2003 SCCA Nationals: CPP Formula Racing ran against professionally engineered cars. While these top cars had budgets in excess of quarter million dollars, the Cal Poly Pomona Formula car was able to record 5th and 6th place finishes.
• 2000 Formula SAE Detroit: 3rd overall.
• 2000 Formula Student: 1st place overall.
* Typical Formula SAE competition attendance is in excess of 100 Universities.
