Oil Dri

Is the club getting their oil dri from MacMaster Carr still?

I used to get it from sams club (not sure if it was the "Oil Dri" brand or not), but they stopped carrying it a while back and I used the last of my stock last month.

So I bought some from McMaster Carr, but it seems to be a lot courser that the stuff I used to use. The McMaster car stuff is about rice crispies in size while the Sam's club stuff was more like cat sand.

Is it just this bag, or is that how all the Oil Dri is? And if so, how is it at cleaning up course spills? It looks like I'm going to need to add the step of grinding in the clay with my feet to clean up a course spill, which will take a lot more time.

This stuff is not that cheap, but works incredibly well. I estimate that it absorbs 5x more liquid for the same volume of absorbent as clay.

I think we have 2 big bags of that in the small bin on the driver's side of the CTV.

I wonder if it is different than the ZEP industrial sweeping compound. That stuff is available in 250lbs drums from Grainger for around $200.

I was over at home depot at lunch picking up drywall (chalk) and went to see what they had in absorbants.

They had both the stuff Seb quoted above and the "Sweeping Compound" (they feel very different through the bag). I bought a 3lb bag of the absorbant but it was no more than $7 (sebs link said $15!). Threw it in the van and I'll test it out at the next opportunity.
