She might be, but her Miata isn't up to SCCA racing specs, but maybe she could drive mine.

The problem is that THIS CalClub event is right between three AX's including our two local National Events

I don't see the registration - on motosportreg? I have a friend that is not a SCCA member and want to run this event can he purchase either a weekend membership or an annual membership to join?

I just realized that March 29-30th are Tuesday and Wednesday. Did you mean March 26-27th, Oli?

The best place to stay closest to the track is the Red Roof Inn (now Motel 6) or the Super 8. please note I said the "best" place and not "good." Those are the places I stay as they are close. Nicer places can be found another 30 minutes away in Bakersfield.

Sorry for the late reply. You are correct on the dates.

The time trial that weekend in $200 and held on Saturday and Sunday, March 26/27.

The road racing Super School Starts Thursday night with orientation, Friday track and class followed by Saturday track, class and two short graduation races. Cal Club is throwing in a full fledged Sunday regional race entry for all Super School candidates.

btw, a single day entry is $125 according to the entry on Motorsportsreg.

I will be out there Friday to help you crew, answer any of your questions, etc.

I will probably be out Thursday evening for the orientation meeting, too. The Chief Steward keeps sending me back. I wonder why...?

I think that as far as skill level I probably am ready but in reality the cost & time is a big factor right now.

Like in Solo, I am not reaching the limits I should be, but this is an ongoing problem and I trust that one day I will overcome this... think that is a female thing.

The plan is to spend the rest of this year gaining seat time and more instruction where I can -- through SCCA TT and NASA HDPE. My most immediate goals are to develop skills in shifting and improving my track awareness.

If you've got a free day this weekend and want to go for a drive ... come up to Buttonwillow ... free Entry for SCCA members (WE OWN Buttonwillow!) ... show your card at the gate ... and check us out. Jason I, Philip R, OIi, Karen and I will be motoring around and Renee and crew will be handling grid.

The WORST thing about racing ... fitting a none adjustable racing seat into a car with a roll cage, and having to take it in and out and in and out and in and out while you figure out your your seating position, and then doing it all over again as you adjust the crotch straps ... that require the seat to come out to adjust. Trying to fit and tighten the rear tie-down bolts when one can barely get ones arm behind the seat, can't see anything and can barely mover a wrench back there is the biggest PITA!

Pulled the muffler off of the ex-Philips car. Racing cars aren't suppose to have mufflers! Put it right back on after starting it up. It's SO LOUD! (except for the muffler, it's a straight through exhaust and header) Might take it off at the track this weekend to try out. But I need to buys something that I can use taking the car on and off of the trailer at home but then quick releasing it off at the track.

If the car is tuned to the edge, removing backpressure will change the AFR and the car will need to be retuned for best performance. A mistake countless kids make at the drag strip.
