Kansas Visitor to Solo event?

I will be visiting family in Rosamond in August, and would like to consider entering your Solo on Aug. 14. I'm flying, so would only have a rental car. However, I would take offers to co-drive if anybody is interested. I currently drive a DS Cobalt SS and have driven AS (BS) C4 Corvettes, and two CS Miatas. When will online registration be available?

We are currently running on the active Ft. Riley Army Air Base flight line occasionally, so I have particular interest in military sites, even though El Toro is decommissioned.

Registration usually opens about a month before the event, but maybe sooner once we get past this coming weekend's Divisional. You can check HERE and/or watch the Events section of this forum for the announcement.

The odds are pretty good at getting a ride with someone.

I have good memories of Salina and it's people from the two times I went to Nationals there. Both the SCCA people and the towns people I interacted with.

That would be great. I know it can be fun flogging a rental car, but it isn't quite the same.

My plans are a little tentative right now, because I'm recovering from rotator cuff surgery, but it seems to be going well. I am confident that I will be ready to compete by then. If I'm not ready to drive, we will probably put the vacation off.

Salina Nationals kind of predates my involvement with SCCA, but several of the guys from back then are still around.

Thanks!

Bill,
I too have nice memories of Salina Nationals.
I also have a 93 BMW325I STX car that is quite capable, easy to drive, and lots o' fun. ( with power steering...might be good after rotator cuff surgery )
You are welcome to drive it if you like.
Tom

Sounds like a good deal! You are right, I would probably turn down a manual steering car at this point. I would be glad to pay you something for expenses, whatever is right. My skill set isn't near the National level, but I keep trying! Old farts learn slowly!

Well, my plans have been changed, and it won't work out. Thanks anyway!
