It may take a little while for the settings to propagate through the system.
On another note, I just registered and noticed that MSR supports registering another person, I guess similar to how axware did. Haven't tried it myself.

I've been registering Jon for a few events, it works.

Is there a practice planned? Do you think there will be room for those that are not going to nationals?

So Robert Ekstrand isn't good enough for No$ championship course?
Says FJC is banished to the junior course.
FJC parents made that decision under certain circumstances when warranted. But it is highly offensive to be ordered to do it.

Steve:
I just noticed that yesterday and I disagree with it, so it will be fixed. All junior karts will run the big course. I was hoping to have you & Will come out on Saturday to set up a practice course in the usual place and take care of it.
Again,I apologize for the "faux pas", but I had Yuki use GRA's flyer and I guess that was included on it.
Rick/Yuki:
If you are reading this - please change the run order to include ALL FJ karts to run on competition course.

Ah happily the practice is up. All is right with the world. Mark is you sister going to drive?
Hopefully I get in, my cars former owner and GRA member Colin Coleman has indicated he would like to come out for the practice on Saturday, see some of his old friends and split the entry with me. Well see how it all pulls together, now that his Girls are in college it would be fun to see him get back in the sport. Supposedly in the day he was pretty good, and it if the practice gives him the bug again I might get some competition.

The Ekstrand-Kalman camp won't be able to do the practice Saturday or setup an FJ course.
Sorry!

That means that if someone doesn't step up and accomodate the FJ karts on Saturday for the practice, then there will be NO separate FJ kart course.

If one of the Youth Stewards is considering setting up an FJ course and is unsure, I'd be happy to talk with you about what it involves. Its a lot of work, but its not hard. We run the courses pretty minimalistic and unlined. The kids do an amazing job finding it. Timing is always optional and saves some work if you skip.
Sorry again we aren't able to do this practice.

If there is a FJ course set up, I'll bring Nathan out. Unfortunetly I don't have the time or means to help set a Jr course.

I am going to hate myself for asking this, but what is involved in setting up an FJ course? I don't know if I will even make the practice having signed up late, but If there is someone to staff the course Saturday, I might be able to make some time on Friday afternoon to set it up well the big course is being laid out. Usually a small course off on one of the fingers right, sort of like the test and tune course?
Anybody got video from one of the kids running an El Toro FJ course?

An FJ course has the same rules and standards as a regular course, just usually not as long. A youth steward needs to be present whenever kids are running on it.
The two biggest considerations are making sure the area used is securely and obviously blocked off from cars. That is harder than you'd think. We've even had trouble with irvine pd entering our FJ courses.
It's easier on a full runway, but many more cones. The narrow taxiway can only be used as a down, turnaround, and return on the same course running one at a time. This does work pretty well and is fast to setup. Course elements and creativity are lacking. The big key is designing the start finish intelligently so that a karter would never accidentally finish into the start chute. It's not hard just requires a little angling and many extra cones. We make the finish really large and angled away from the start. The start is off to one side and nearly hidden. We've never had any issues with that approach.
The timer unit needs power if you choose to use timing.

Would it be ok to line the course? Do you use the cones out of the main trailer or is their a special source for the FJ group? Do you have a course layout from a couple of previous events? Is there a Youth Steward available for Saturday, someone to run the show? My thought would be to use a small course like the one that was used for the half day Evo course or something like that. What elements do you usually include. Sweepers, slaloms, Chicago boxes.
I guess the is there a youth steward comes first. Second would be how many FJ karts are entered, i.e. is it even worth being concerned?

I'm planning to have Maddie run her kart. Unfortunately, I can't make it to set up, but I'm not doing the practice, so I can help out all day on Sat. if needed.

I guess that begs the question of how many it takes to run the practice? If you can run the practice on Saturday, I think I can manage the course set up on Saturday, especially if I can do it by eye rather than plan. Just need some guidelines of what people like to see as elemenets.
However if there is only going to be one junior kart, haven't heard from anyone else, maybe they will let her run the big course at lunch?

When was it that we did that first separate Jr. course at Ca Spdway ... I've got picture of that course that I could show Arthur?

I think Steven Y. is the youth steward for the practice. We'll be setting up the FJ course Sat morning, if space is available.
