Are these any good for AX?
I know getting parts for them would be practically impossible, but being I'm into Scottish history right now & realize its the only car that I've heard of that was made in Scotland I thought it might be a fun car to play with.

I'll take the MG TC in the background. Were quite successful in racing in their time I believe. Helped restore one that belonged to a close friend of my Dad and got to drive it quite a bit. Was actually going to be mine one day but got destroyed in a garage fire.

Sp are you saying it could be a worthy project?
I have not found one, but am just thinking it would be fun considering my wife is Scottish & maybe just maybe she would try racing in a car that came from her homeland?

No, I was talking about the other car in the picture, the MG in the background. I know nothing about the Hillman beyond vague name recognition.

I have a Sunbeam Tiger, which is a kind of a cousin to the Imp, as both were under the Rootes Group umbrella. So, I know a little bit about the Hillman's.
Back in the day, they were pretty successful in International Rally (think Monte Carlo etc) and well supported. They also had some success in British Saloon car racing and continue to be run in vintage racing events. They weren't world beaters in either area, but they were factory supported and did well...heck, Ayrton Senna drove an Imp when he first got to the UK.
Having said that, while one could be fun to play with (with the right expectations), don't expect TTOD performance

Build an EMod car and call it a Hillman. Put a Mopar sticker on it.

Dont know if I'd ever build one but was wondering about its performance.
My Wife's sisters 1st car was a Imp while hers was a Mini.

Great car!! My dad used to race one in slalom events. Mini's had a hard time with it since the Imp was rear wheel drive and the engine was also in the rear if I remember. They just modified the carb jets, the exhaust system and fat tires.
Hope you find a good one!

I'm always on the look out for a steal of a deal on either a Mini or Imp.

My grandmother had a Hillman Imp. Spun it out in the rain and totaled it if I recall correctly.
We always had Cortinas... MK 1, Mk2, Mk 3 and a Mk 4! My favorite was the Mk3 GT package. It was blue with a black vinyl roof and had a bunch of gauges down by the shifter like the Camaro. Seemed very cool when I was a kid.

Would seem very cool to me at my mid 40's as well.

I'd never even heard of these POS'es before Cam's initial post. Now, like that annoying song in your head, I can't get away from them.
