Tow Bar to Tow the Miata ?

Opinions on using a Tow Bar to tow the Miata behind my Previa mini van? I use to work with Rod Millen, who would tow a trailer with his Pikes Peak winning Toyota behind his unmodified super charged (like mine) Previa. He said it did a fine job.

I've never seen anyone tow their solo car with a Tow Bar. Why not ...

What gets mounted on the tow vehicle that the bar attaches to?

And then there's this from the instructions:
"11. Do Not Back Up when towing. Backing up may damage the Tow Bar assembly or the towed car’s chassis."

In California, you have to have a braking system for flat towing over 1500lbs.

If you remember I had one on the Geo. The attachment that'd go on the Miata is pretty heavy (~20lbs), and hangs off the nose. I could feel when it was out there. The bulk of the weight could be unbolted fairly easily, but depending on the quirks of the install could be a pain to line up for often install/uninstall. Mine was a pain and I only pulled it when I knew I wasn't going to tow for months.

I think I still have my low end 'RoadMaster Tracker' tow bar. If I do, you can have it.

They're assuming you're stupid and would jackknife the set up. It's fine to back straight for short distance.
