No vid, but I want to congratulate Shauna for skirting me on my own course.

Nice win, Max! I was having the same little oversteer moment (at 0:29 in your video) on a couple of my runs.
Great result, Jayson...on the podium!

Seb, very nice course design. Had me going to 1st gear on the tight right-hander before the fast section.

My best effort of 55.2XXX (in X-runs, though. )

I'll be the first newb to pony up with the big dogs. 2nd run of the day was my best, 61.357.

I'm trying to temper expectations given that this was my second event ever, but its frustrating watching the video and thinking "why did I take that line?!" There are several points where I know I didn't take a turn wide enough and scrubbed off too much speed. I guess it's just going to take (a lot!) of time before I can make those adjustments from run to run. I do want to thank Leonard for his instruction runs on Saturday. I think he shaved a second or two off my time with some of the tips he gave me.

All that said, I think my 3rd run would have been a second faster than this one had I not got too excited in the sweeper and ended up sideways at the bottom of the hill. The run up to that point felt really good.

You won't find it nearly as amusing when you're driving with a STR PAX next year ;)

Thanks for the compliment, I didn't mean for that turn to be so tight, I also thought the slalom would be a little faster.

The slalom was supposed to be "civic Straight", I wanted to be on the limiter in my civic at the exit and entering the next element. As it turns out, I didn't hit the rev-limiter anywhere on the course.
The hairpin and ensuing fast section was called "Corvette Corner", I was trying to give something back to the powerful cars after making them handle a 7 cone slalom. Unfortunately, asphalt damage made me deviate from my map and I didn't compensate enough.

My biggest point of fault was the finish, I was trying to duplicate the finish from the 2010 Nationals east course and just ran out of room.

Overall, it was a rewarding experience to design a course, I think it measured up to the high standards we have in our region. I had no idea it was so much work though...I'm beat today.

Overall, it was great. Loved dealing with the bump in the middle of the fast downhill sweeper, and the heavy braking/wiggle at the pinch point just before the finish. Lil' somethin' for everyone!

I thought you did a great job, Seb. The course looked kind of simple, but it really made you think about your choice of line.

Come on then Jay, did you have an epiphany driving this weekend? You did great on Sunday.

I really liked the course, the grid. I sucked, but had fun. Looking at it, would have thought it was shorter than it turned out. You did great.

Loved the course Seb, especially the fact that it is very different from most of the recent designs. That right hand turn got me almost every run :) when I finally nailed it on the 4th run for a 55.X I got a late cone call.

Seb,
Very good course. A little something for everyone. Nice to see different visual cues. Good balance.
It shows that you put a lot of thought and effort into it.

Davin: instructors are available Sunday, as well!

Doug: I don't know what you're talking about, I took that hairpin in 3rd gear & it felt great, hee hee hee.

I enjoyed the course both days - thanks Seb!

Yeah, your 3rd tops out at about 52 mph!

Stopped clock, twice a day.

Good course for the 6speed. Tried a little change on the 4th run, which got me through the slow stuff much faster. I still had a really big lock up push out there that had to be multiple tenths worth. I also don't think many of us set up correctly for the final downhill sweeper, kept getting mid way across the path rather than hugging the inside cones.

I had a great time this weekend. I bought 2 sets of X-Runs so I got plenty of seat time. I spent most of the time chasing a 58 sec run but the best I managed was a 59.1. All of my runs were in the 59's so I guess there is something to be said for consistency. I was trying really hard for that 58sec run and collected a lot of cones in the process. Of the four runs I only had one clean run in each run group. On one run I actually managed to collect 4 cones, when I was pulling back into the pits I heard the announcer say something to the effect of "no course design work after the fact, please" LOL!

Any way here are my runs:

My fourth timed run (59.028):

My sixth X-Run, my fastest of the day (59.161)

The two above side by side:

And just for fun on my last X-Run I mounted a homemade 3D camera rig to the top of the car. So put on you're 3D glasses here is Auto-X in 3D!
