Just received the following via email. I know some went to the first season taping, I attended the second... though some might be interested in the third.
Top Gear is returning to tape its third season and we are offering a limited number of FREE PRIORITY tickets to our fans. You will receive guaranteed admission.

The show just announced it will tape season 3 over the course of 5 days only; Thursday, December 8th through Monday, December 12th. Hosts Adam Ferrara, Tanner Foust, and Rutledge Wood are returning with more super-cars, extreme stunts and challenges, car reviews and celebrity guests. Due to the popularity of the show tickets are limited, so if you can't make it to one of these five dates, you'll have to wait until season 4 in 2012 for another chance.

The show tapes on a private park/military base in Irvine, California and you must have a ticket in order to be admitted. The minimum age to attend is 18. The show is standing room only (no seats) and lasts approximately 4-5 hours (from the time you arrive).

From the time I parked my car till I was driving away was just over 5 hrs. There was much waiting around in between. From the parking lot waiting for the buses to the site, at the site till all arrived (10 bus loads or so, on two physical buses), for the crew to be ready, between takes (prop/set changes), to the ride back to the car. I would say there was probably 30-45 minutes of actual roll that took place. Five scenes (from 3 different episodes), many, many, many takes.

I met up with Bev and Terri sat morning for the 10am taping.

I'd have to say, the overall experience was very positive, but that probably had a fair dollop of good company to help out. If i had gone alone, it probably wouldn't have been as much fun.

The only thing I didn't like, was the crowd warmup exercise. specifically, the laugh at nothing exercise. talk about awkward.

i would definitely go back again though, if I can have same company..
