Hey guys, can somebody help me confirm that an aftermarket Launch/Traction control is legal in SSM?
Thanks,
Chris

Short answer is launch control yes, traction control no. If Mike sees this he can probably expand.

I think I need the long answer

I really don't see why, in other classes the advice on the traction control systems is stated under the ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN category.
For example in the STREET PREPARED CATEGORY under the Engine and drivetrain it states:
15.10 ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN
D. Traction and/or stability control systems, as defined in 12.11, must
be standard parts at standard settings, or electronically disabled.
On the other hand in the STREET MODIFIED CATEGORY it shows:
16.1.D (page 108)
Drivetrain and related components (induction, ignition, fuel systems,
etc.) are unrestricted except for the following limitations (and obviously I checked the limitations and non of them is regarding traction control systems )
To me that clearly shows that traction control is allowed.

Hmm, you might be right. I saw that 15.10D and thought it carried over into SM.

Legal. You want the Racelogic traction control system if you're going that direction though. If you're working with an ECU that claims to have traction control, it likely isn't up to the task.

Thank you Mike, yes I've ordered the Racelogic Traction Control + Launch Control + controller. Have you ever driven a car with it? I noticed that it's stock equipment in the apollo gumpert and I figure out it should be good (even though Richard Hammond span out in the hammerhead

)
