F-1 is enjoyable, but it isn't affordable or personable enough. If you look at a large number of venues in F-1 they breakdown into two groups. Long standing events that have a tourist history (most of the European and South American events), the rest are government sponsored / underwritten to justify the country as a visitor or business spot and raise world awareness, not something the U.S. needs to do. F-1 demands so much of the venue that you wonder who can put together a commercial package. The best venue in the U.S. was likely Indy but F-1 screwed that up with the tire issue.
