A bit of a problem since we no longer hold numbers past December 31st.

For renewal by mail go to the Renewal Page and scroll to the bottom where there are instructions and links for PDF's to print and mail in.

You are not supporting PayPal, it's free for you to use. If anything it ensures that your banking info is not in the hands of several merchants.

Hopefully you have other reasons for not using it.

They "lost" $50 that Jeff Kiesel sent to me ... we had "receipts," but they refused to do anything about it.

Still find them too convenient not to use

Yup! We take checks too. Just fill out the form here http://www.solo2.com/PurchasePC.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (scroll to the bottom of the page) and pop it with a check in the mail.

You can do that too, but keep in mind that if someone else wants your number between 1/1/12 and 1/14/12, they're going to get it, so you'll be out of luck. If you have a sought-after number, better not to mess around.

Can I buy numbers and trade them like domain names?

Seriously, Kurt do we have a dibs list? I want to reserve a single digit number.

The protected range of numbers (1-199, and in particular 1-99) are distributed based on level of participation, level of volunteerism and whether you compete in national events (not necessarily in that order). Given those three criteria, I'd say you have a good shot at a lower number if one becomes available. ;)

9 is now officially off the table...

...and that means, this year, Mike won't get a phone call at 10:30 PM on New Years Eve asking if he's anywhere near a computer...

Oh that's when your e-mail inbox will explode! :) But when I was doing this "job", I was not able to get to a PC on New Year's as I was away on vacation and no internet cafe's were open. Ironically the one that I'm at now, has new ownership and will be open on 01/01. But not for X-mas.

You'll probably have to box Doug Kott for it. And he just bought a fully prepped STR car! I don't think he's going anywhere. ;)

So what happens if I pick a number thats on hold & then don't get it, Does that just have me keeping my old number?

Cam, if 300 is not renewed on New Year's Day, then you can renew it. It's first come first serve. It's only the protected range of numbers [1-199] that are not as easy to get. So either Doug Kott renews today. If not then it's open to anyone starting at midnight tonight. Now WHEN that midnight applies I'm not so sure but I always gave it to midnight PST.
