Team Blew, Gone but Not Forgotten

Team Blew, the "Number One Subaru Auto Cross Club," is no longer. Founded by Norm Roberts, it quickly grew with the explosive popularity of the Subaru WRX and STI, which Subaru cleverly sold with a Free SCCA membership.

Although the butt of jokes in it's early years, it's "members blew," it's drivers grew with the club to produce such fine, fast and respected auto crossers such as Max Hayter, Seb and Shauna Rios, Mihai Subaruru, Greg Peng, Tom Denham, Pete Loney, Mark Coleman, John Kestler, Henry Bjoin, Eric Sung, Jonathan Lugod, Stephen Yeoh, Jason Flores, Sean Goodbody, Todd Story, Jeff Wong, Nichole Nagler, and popular characters such as fast and quirky Jeff Barco and Bill Hogan, and just plain old quirky but lovable Michael Palero. We were even graced with Annie Bauer during her "year abroad."

A lot of other good people: Karen Zaterman, Chad Stubblefield, Thomas Shepard, Adrian, Chuck Fowler, Paul Interrante, Matt Thiemann, Michael Henderson, Ron and Carol Beach Flaherty, Patty Wang, Steven Collins, Andrew Bingham, Dr John Bassinger, Darren and Jennifer Cole, Roman Krajewski, Crystal, Angie, Mark Hasbun, Daniel Tennenbaum, Ramy Mattar, Jeff Mayes, Chris and Lisa Furia, Richard Bowman, Randy Chen, Deborah Drab, Timo, Ray Escamilla, Armando Estrada, Naren, Wing Lee, Brent Santos, Leeway Chang, Daniel Yeung, Josh Gelle and Rocky. Can't even imagine who I'm leaving out! I started in 2004. Some of these folks "retired," others have become track rats.

If only Subaru had come out with the BRZ sooner, but the working heart of Team Blew burnt out, moved into CSCC management and decided it was time to take their RWD cars to other clubs. Thanks for having us ... it was an exciting run ...

Seb said you guys were trying to "light up" the web.... And really... there's nothing wrong with that.... If you're into that sort of thing.

Just when I thought I was out...They pull me back in.

I was told the domain is "the light at the end of the web".

You really are out of practice with the Smack Talk. It should flow. I don't even know what the above means. I guess you do though.

Funny, I haven't seen John at an event or on these boards for a very long time but today when we went to Willow Springs to get the Celica ready for the 2012 season John was there with his S2000 (sportsracer not Honda). Nice to see you again

Toby it was great to see you and Jason out there. What a challenging track...I had forgot since I hadn't been on WSIR 2.5 for over ten years...unfortunately I was 2 seconds slower than I was in 2001. I had a misfire all day but a lot of it had to do with "Huevos Pacitos".
But they are getting bigger now that I've had a few laps.
