I noticed a procedure problem while reading the event flyer for the Sept event. We tell the entrant to go to tech first and that the numbers and class letters must be on the car to pass tech. However, if the entrant is a newby, he won't have his "600" number and won't know what class he is in. Therefore, he would fail tech. Tech can help him to select what class he is in, but can't give him a number. Shouldn't the entrant go to registration first to get his "600" number so he could put it on the car before going to tech? Otherwise we need to change the tech rules to allow for an entrant not having his number on the car.
Any thoughts?

EDIT:
Never mind, I just noticed the REGISTER FIRST note after the tech hours

Note the flyer was updated to include information about Cal Poly Pomona's FSAE team serving burgers and drinks alongside grid. Please consider spending your lunch money there to help them raise funds for their team effort.

Please note the Championship flyer has been updated to reflect CASH ONLY for the event fees.

If we resolve our banking matters prior to the event that stipulation will be removed, but I want to ensure nobody is surprised by the requirement in case that isn't in the cards.

This is the FSAE Volunteer Event. The first 60 eligible FSAE volunteers who submit their entry by noon on Thursday, September 4th are guaranteed free admission. Eligible FSAE volunteers who cannot make the event or are not admitted must send notification prior to the event that they would like their alternate $45 Solo$ in lieu of the practice. Solo$ may only be used directly by the eligible volunteer.

The event is capped at 75 entries. The initial Entrants List will be published the evening of Thursday, September 4th on the Events forum. Non-FSAE entrants and FSAE entries submitted after the first 60 will be selected by Magic 8-Ball depending on the number of FSAE entrants.

Whoa.... Do the volunteers know this? Is this like those rebate deals with hidden contract language designed to screw you over? I have to notify somebody or I'm out $45? Notify who? I'm a little busy right now as are 50 some other people headed East very soon to do this thing in some sport that must not have anything to do with the local yocal thing. Its bad enough this region thinks so little of its nationals competitors to hold a championship without them, now they are constructing ways to cheat them too???

I CAN'T MAKE THIS PRACTICE!!! I WOULD LIKE THE ALTERNATIVE OF $45 SOLO$ IN LIEU OF THE PRACTICE!!!

Oh yeah, Stacey and I want our averages too. Do we have to put that in formal writing and attend one of those stupid meetings or risk being screwed over there too???

I hate this place.

EDIT ADD: I realize this language is in the flyer... Tell me oh great gods of autocross administration, why would I read the flyer for this event?

BTW-Why cap a summer daylight savings time event at 75 when 80 used to be the routine number?
I thought we were worried about money more than anything right now.

I don't why you should read the flyer but if you read the August minutes...Those that are going to Nationals will receive their average. Those volunteers at the FSAE event that are going to Nationals will receive $45.00 in Solo Bucks.

An error was made. CSCC will be one of the 25 Regions that will have an autox on or right after Nationals. Just be glad you don't live in AZ as they have always run right after Nationals. I know some even left before the banquet that ran Thur/Fri.

How is reading the August minutes relevant??? I've read the August minutes. I know I am entitled to my average. I know that I am entitled to solo$. My issue here is that people were not informed that there was hurdle jumping to be done unless they happened to read the flyer for an event they weren't planning on attending.

Mako,

As detailed in the event flyer, the initial list will be published the evening of September 4th. This is specifically to allow the FSAE volunteers time to sign up for the event so us non-FSAE volunteers don't occupy their spot.

Stay tuned...

Mike

So depending on how many of the FSAE Peeps are up for practice, we who hope to practice, might or might not be able to do this.

Why does this feel like playing the Lotto?

I understand the honor of those who help more than others, get more benefits than people that dont help out though. ;)

Don't forget all of the San Diego events. I don't think there has ever been a San Diego event that I didn't get into. Well there was that one BMW event. :(

Forget it Gio ... we've gone over that. They wouldn't let Henry, BMW member with his Mini, in, because the Mini was in the shop so he ended up having to take his street SS Z-06. They let in a bunch of Impala's instead of us, even though we were there before them, after getting up at something like 3:30 to be one of the first in line.

Karen and I recently had a great couple of days with the BMW Club in San Diego ...

Oh that was ages ago. And the Impala club has a close association with BMWCCA-SD chapter. A one time incident. LA chapter isn't as strict (when they do have events) and there is one coming up the Sunday (21st) after our local champ event (14th).

Thank God for smileys Glenn else I'd say..WTF?? :D Besides I don't have anything to do with LA chapter anymore. My "official" home chapter is SD.
