WTB or...? Used R-Comps

Don't even know if anyone has any, but I would like to find some useable "used" 14" or 15" R-Comps to use for practices. Maybe someone has some that have a half life that are not so old to have hardened, etc., and would like to make a deal toward buying new ones. I would want them to be 225s max. I'm presuming someone with a NA Miata but...???

That is freek'n weird. Certainly did not see THAT post which, apparently, came 30 minutes prior to my posting. Unfortunately, although that's a great deal, I'm just looking for tires. I'll reply to his thread.

Thanks, Seb.

Be sure to cross post in San Diego. They've got the numbers when it comes to R-comp NAs.

"Old" is the issue, although I appreciate the offer. In order for me to learn how to drive on them, they need to be somewhat useable...no??
I guess I'm needing to look a gift horse in the mouth. I thought someone might have fairly fresh rubber, half used, but with some tire wear left on them. With the proceeds from a good deal for me, they could defray the cost of a new set.

These are R-Componds correct? What would you be asking?

While we are on the subject, where is a good place to find Goodyear RS AC compounds? Internet vs. local shop doesn't make a difference to me. They seem hard to find or maybe I'm just not searching correctly.

The AZ location seems to have the best inventory, the other good one is Vegas. The AZ guys also support a lot of the SPDIV events (they were the ones at the Tour and Pro), you could pick up tires from them at the June Auto Club Speedway race (they come to support the Club Race and always bring lots of tires).

I'd be all over this EXCEPT that I doe not presently have 15" legal rims and I'm not ready to buy any. For my immediate needs, I'm now thinking of purchasing NEW Kumho V710s since that's what they are running in SD by agreement. In Cal-Club "by agreement" we're running street tires for 2012. I'd be using the R-Comps in SD for the time being.

Not sure what "30 compound" is.

Can you legally go up to the 15" wheels Ed? I am under the assumption that only one special model of the 1st generation Miata came with 15" wheels.

If your car is the model that comes with 15 inchers, I would really take a hard look at the street tire stock classes again since you'd be able to use the "magic" 195-50/15 size Toyo R1R.

Ssshhhh! Whachu goin do, rat me out, Mang?

For 1995, 15x6 was only offered on the "M" edition. My car has everything that the M has except the badge. The car was repainted. Maybe they forgot the badge. ;) Who knows?

Seriously, in talking with a lot of National level Miata folks, I've been told that I would not have a problem going with 15x6 wheels with the required off-set, etc.....any brand. But it's kind of a moot point for now since I'm running 14x6s...even if I go R-Comps.
