In my last minute push to figure out how to get to Lincoln, I find myself in need of tires without a proper solution.

The car is a very lightweight STF car so 65/35 weight balance sub 2200lbs the issue I run into is that I may not be able to afford 15" rims before Lincoln and my current tires have bad shoulder wear. So not being able to run the 15"s and Toyos I'm looking for advice on a 23" tire for 16x7" rim. The only tires I've found in my size and fit my budget are Khumo XS, Falken 615k, Toyo R1R. I would lean toward the R1R but its not the STS/STC size so I won't get much life beyond nats in them which is a big drawback for me.

The compound is the same til you get to approximately 4/32nds or so maybe less than that. On the older Kumho's I ran into much harder compounds in the last 2/32nds or so. Its more common than people realize. What is rare is a tire like the 195 that has the good stuff all the way into the cords. You can run the R1R full tread. I consider that better than either the Kumho or the Falken. Run it full tread and you'll have just as much or more than usable life as I have shaving 195 R1R's to 3 or 4 32nds. Will Kalman put a smack down on the STC field at the San Diego Tour this year on R1R's fresh off the truck full tread.

Just out of curiousity... What bolt pattern does your car have?

Yeah I don't really like the idea of running either the Kumho or Falken but it seems like a better deal than running the R1R in the odd size, but at this point I'm getting a bit desperate and am willing to rent someones scrubs just to have a decent tire to run at Lincoln.

i have a mix/match set that I run on my STC civic. Rotas/TR wheels.

I'd be happy to lend them to you for Nats. They currently have the "slick" toyo R1R, but I can't say how much life is left on them.
If you want to borrow those, you can. If you want to slap on your own set of tires for Nats, that's fine too. Tire removal is at your expense, though.

This is why the sport rocks.

You should take Jesus up on his generous offer. If the R1Rs he has are not showing cords, they will be your best bet in dry weather. If you have any wheels and tires with tread, they will be better if there is standing water on course.

I can lend you my 15x7 Enkei RPF1 wheels, they have corded Toyos right now though.
