Greetings,
As some of you may be aware, I'm getting married next summer and my dearly beloved is looking for a wedding photographer.
I know a lot of you are photogs, so if any of you have any reasonably priced recommendations, I would love to hear them. The ones she is finding would require to me to get a loan from Mike Simanyi!
Thanks :heyes:

You mean a couple of hundred of your closest friends with smart phones won't cut it?

we used these guys and were quite happy.

Heather used these guys

and were also quite happy. Heather and Charles are in a lot of the engagement photo samples on their site, like the first one.
witon is more artsy than harvard but we got ALL (like several thousand)of the pics harvard took on a dvd. I think Witon only provided the touched up good pics.
of all the things to skimp out on, I don't think you want to cut corners on the photogs.

Max,
One of our own, Todd Cameron, SDR Region member does weddings. Below is his website. Apparently he has not yet posted wedding samples on the site, but I know he has done them for many years.

We took a class together.
I got a job. He started a photography business.
I facebook stalk his photos regularly and decided long ago he would be on my short list of photographers to photograph MY wedding.
I never liked wedding photography shots until I started looking at his photos.

Whoever you go with, be clear ahead of time on their policy on the raw digital files. It seems like some photographers are very reluctant to give you the files and others don't care. It would stink to find out after the fact that you're expected to pay the photographer extra for reprints and don't have access to the digital files!

Never would have though of that, 20 yrs ago for our wedding, there was no option. Photographers never gave up the negatives. I actually contacted the photographer to have our daughters High School Senior pictures taken three years ago, and learned she had a house fire a few years after we got married, and lost all her negatives.
The other scary part, the quote for the Senior pictures was more than we paid for our wedding photos, inc. all the orders other parties placed too. Can't imagine what the cost of a photographer runs these days for a wedding. Guess with two daughters, I'll learn sooner or later (emphasis by dad, on later

)

My brother is a photographer. He is located in san diego but often travels to the OC for jobs. He has 25 or so years expirence and does a great job. I have seen a lot of his work. he strives on staying out of the way but still getting good shots and can plan a time to do other shots ofter the wedding if that is what you want.
