NA Miata brake pads?

What's the concensus on brake pads for NA miatas ('94). Primary goal is RallyX, but same fundementals as AutoX; they need to work cold. Maybe even less heat than AutoX.

For STS we use stock OEM fronts, and upgraded materials for the rear. I use Hawk HPS on the rear.

+1 on that. If you want a more aggressive set up, use the HPS in the front and the HP+ in the rear.

You have more experience than I, but I would question wether upgrading to that if he did not have ABS would make him prone to front lockup. The OEM fronts on the Miata are prone to lockup without providing more grip to the rear (ergo the rear upgrade). I'd be concerned that without generating the extra heat in the HP+ he may have the front lockup issue on dirt.
