Forwarded to Karen, even though yesterday I decided to go the Catamaran route with my version of a Dually:

Having been looking for this exact generation of truck, I can attest that this is a great deal. At this price, most of them out there have 200K miles or more.
Unfortunately, I have to find one with a back seat.
Mako, hook them nose to tail and use 'em like a train.

I can attest to the attributes of these Silverado/Sierra trucks. I owned a 2001 Sierra and currently own a 2007. The fuel economy was actually better with the older truck. Not sure what Tom gets, but I'd regularly get 19 mpg towing (22-24 mpg not/combined driving). I never have felt the need for more power when towing. No problem even going over the Tejon grade on Interstate 5. Besides hauling my car, I also use my trucks to tow my horse trailer. If you've never driven a truck with the Allison transmission - they are very smooth-shifting transmissions. This is appreciated by the horses, too! The "tow/haul" mode and braking control is also something I really have appreciated when hauling on mountain roads. I owned the 2001 for 5 years and have now had my 2007 for 6 years. Both very reliable.
More pictures... an awsome tow vehicle!
