I'd love to have you come shoot us. I still think it'd be great to be able to sync our in-car video with your video.UpThere Video wrote:Hey everyone! I've had a busy couple of winter months but it looks like I'll be free Sunday to record some racing, are y'all still interested in UpThere video'ing the day's races? If so please let me know. Also it would be helpful to see the course map ahead of time. Is Mike Simanyi on the site that I might ask this of him? Lastly I should probably touch bases with safety coordinator Eric Clements once I see the map and have an idea of where is best to set up to catch the fronts of cars coming through some of the more exciting curves and turns.
Well, let me know what y'all think.
I've got the walkie talkies but not the extra warm body to stand at the start line. Maybe some drivers who aren't in a particular run can help with that. Just need to find the way to coordinate. I suppose if y'all have your phones on you when you're in line, you could just call me and tell me you're ready and that you'll be up in x number of cars. Yeah, that ought to work, do y'all have your phones with you?Kurt Rahn wrote:I'd love to have you come shoot us. One additional piece of info that would help us is to know what run number it is. That way we're syncing the right video. But I think the phone idea is great.UpThere Video wrote:Okay, I don't if anyone is reading this but I think I have a solution to the in-car sync idea. If I make a sign and set it up a few cars back from the start position that says, "If you have in-car video and desire aerial to sync with it. Please text your car #, model, and color to 208.608.1377 now. If not already syncing with another, I'll swing around in time to video your run."
Now this assumes y'all have your phones on you while you're waiting in the queue. This way I don't need any extra assistance like having someone standing there. What do y'all think, would this work? If so I need to get a sign prepared.
I think we would know that because I would have the time of the text and the time of the run so they could be sync'd that way, at least my texts show a time of receipt. I guess if someone wanted more than one run sync'd it might get a bit confusing, but those folks could just add to the text "Run1" or "Run2" then for sure we could figure out which one was first and so on.Kurt Rahn wrote:One additional piece of info that would help us is to know what run number it is.
